Events TexTreme Benchrest 2020

TBR 2020 rev5.1599835686.jpg

Since EBR 9.5 has gone virtual (great idea by the way), Team Centercut, along with Ranchito Robinson (Ron) in Clifton TX (near Waco) have decided to have our own Tournament 8 to 11 October 2020.
TexTreme Benchrest!
The events are 100Y BR, 50Y BR, Benchrest Silhouette, Speed KYL, and Pistol BR Silhouette.
We’ll start Thursday PM with practice and sight in. Friday, 50Y BR and Speed KYL, Saturday, 100Y BR and BR Silhouette. Sunday, AM 50Y and 100Y finals and awards, followed by Pistol BR Silhouette (afternoon).
We have some nice first place prizes lined up; entry fee is $80. Due to the size of Ron’s shooting range (4 benches), we are limited to 16 shooters, and have 4 2 spots left. PM for additional information or to sign up. First come first serve.

For anyone not already familiar with Bench-Rest SILHOUETTE (Saturday afternoon match), attached is a flier containing the rifle specifics and rules. However, there will be only one class shot at TEXtreme Benchrest, 80 Foot-Pound Maximum. But FWIW, the BRS record was shot with a 35 Foot-Pound Class rifle; a considerably higher score than the 80 FP record. So don't be discouraged or intimidated by the 80 FP maximum if your rig is under 35 FP.

The Pistol BR Silhouette match (Sunday afternoon) rules will be the same as rifle BRS rules attached except-

1) A sandbag will also be allowed under the pistol grip.

2) Pistol BRS distances will be half that of the rifle distances.

3) Any caliber air pistol allowed of no more than 20 foot-pounds of muzzle energy.

Since he doesn't necessarily have the most impeccable reputation with all members of the airgun community, interested airgunners should be aware Ron Robinson will be there. 😲

Just make sure you have a stack of hurt feelings reports on hand just like back in the day...........just in case 😉😉

Hope you have a great event!

Spectators are welcome, however I can't say it's very wheelchair accessible. Sincerest apologies, d3!

EDIT- It occurs to me that since all the shooting will happen from my covered back porch out across my back yard, spectating would be entirely doable from a vehicle parked to the left of the shooting line with a good view of the targets; not so the shooters. And though I'm a complete and utter tech-ILLITERATE, I assume a smart phone call from firing line to vehicle could provide an audio link, and a FaceTime (?) call a visual link of the shooters? Somebody help me here; I might be in over my head. Am I making any sense?

Target stack up for TBR 100Y BR event. Top two yellow cards are record targets, three shots upper left, two shots all others, 25 shots total. Scoring is plugged to 0.30 caliber. Bottom card with red targets are sighters. Targets are same size 7 to X ring as EBR targets. Any shots outside the 7 will count as a 6. Any shots on record cards greater than 25 total will count as a -10 points each.

Congratulations on your and Steve's Extreme FT wins, Mike. Sounds like an awesome competition; FT on steroids! With the winners of both classes at that event coming to my little TEXtreme Bench-Rest weekend, I'm getting a little n-n-nervous! 😥

Sure looking forward to meeting you guys, Robert Buchanan in person, and Seeing Bobby C. again.

Not to suggest airgunners might be shallow enough to be influenced by something as decadent as adult beverages, but I just ordered more TBR "attractants"-

On the way from San Diego to Clifton, TX for TBR. Picked up Steve123 south of Phoenix. Dinner in El Paso, TX. Will stop for the night in Odessa, TX. Should arrive at Ranchito Robinson early afternoon Thursday for set up. Tournament starts Friday morning. :)

Edit: didn’t make it to Odessa. Stopped short in Pecos. Still have about six hours to go Thursday...
