TP&W Commissioners passed the Staff recommendations on airguns and airbows today, March 22, 2108. I think the recommendations were nearly the same if not identical to the Public Comment proposals. .30 cal and up for whitetail deer, pronghorns, alligators, turkeys, etc. Must be charged from an external source. .177 and up for quail and small game. These new rules will appear in the 2018-2019 Hunting Guide this fall. I doubt the airgun rules go into effect for Spring 2018 turkey season. I am not sure how the airgun was defined in the final rules. The proposal still separated airguns from powder guns. I think airgun and airbow seasons will coincide with modern gun season. Probably be a few days before we see a press release.
