I recall that mine took ~3 weeks to arrive last year, even during continuing COVID lockdowns. This unit allows you to screw it right into a DIN fitting on your bottle, or just connect it directly using the Foster fitting on your fill whip.

the ones like above i was checking out .. theyre in the 400$ range ... in a pinch though, you can fill your tank to the guns max fill pressure and it equates to your gun being a 'bottle gun' with a 6L capacity lol .. ie, you get 50 shots on a .5L bottle gun, well you just jumped up .. you just increased it to 600 ... without spending a dime ...

I agree with TMH. The Altaros doesn't have the external adjustment or the unnecessary second gauge of the JB marketed model but it is more than $250 cheaper and suits my needs just as well. Huma makes a similar version to the Altaros but it's a little bit dearer and doesn't include a hose. I think they also make one with external adjustment for a little bit more. The Altaros and Huma are more suited to DIN-type valves but adaptors are available if your bottle has a CGA 347 interface.

Me, I just fill my gun a few times and then tether to the tank. That way the tank is at gun pressure and doesn't require a separate regulator. A much less expensive way to do it.

They say 210bar max but one of my regulators has worked a treat set at 250 bar for some 2 years and still going strong!

That Texan has (way) passed 1000 shots by now.

If you already have a 300 DIN regulator, this one easily fits up between the reg and the hose:

It starts to make less sense to me if you have to shell out extra $$$ adapting it in...

Any report on the Huma Air regulator that AOA sells? Never seen that one before this thread. I’m checking it out on the Huma Air site now. They have videos on it. I like the looks of that ATP Regboy, but upwards of $500 is steep! I’m currently looking for an external reg for tethering purposes to test and tune big bores. It would also be a plus to use for filling airguns from a SCBA tank as well. Experience based input is appreciated.

I am using the Huma externally adjustable regulator for tethering my MK2 at my BR second year already. This is a gen2 got it directly from Huma, I did not track further if it was any upgrade since.
I like it and the price was right, I think today is more expensive then last year.
I pre-set it for 185 bars at medium, but each Low-Med-High range can be adjusted as well, there shall be instructions somewhere on Huma websight.
There is also one inline Reg from Altaros.

I was playing with different pressure adjustments (very easy) a very first hour when I got it last year, and once started using it at my bench I realized once you decided where to pre-set - there is absolutely no need to touch it anymore. I have a small plastic padded case for storing and mounting it to the tank at my bench only.

@bigHUN The price looks right at €189.00 which probably still works out to be cheaper than AOA’s $249 + shipping price tag. This the model where you twist the body to adjust it correct? Is there a way to lock the body in place once you’ve rotated it to your desired setting so you can’t bump or pull it out of place accidentally?

I saw the Altaros reg in @TMH’s reply. I checked that site out as well. I like dealing with Huma. With them I’ve been able to get parts and support pretty quickly when needed.

This is how much sticking out from the tank when it is mounted, me removing when not in use.
The new Huma external Reg look awesome, not sure why the price. But once you start shooting it will be out of your eyesight anyway.
Back in time the Ninja blue table top Reg was maybe the best looking unit, but haven't seen those for two years.

I also bought the aqua environment directly from them. The manufacturer. If you buy the gauges on ebay and put it together your self.its the way to go. I went this route hoping to regulate 5500 psi to 4500 psi for big bore performance. One day!!!

I think a tethered tank with a reg on it would be nice for long shooting sessions / big bore guns, but an extra $80 / 88 cubic foot SCBA tank filled to the max pressure on my gun should be plenty of shooting for my current needs with no need to pause and fill. I am sure the day will come when I will want a regulator for tethered shooting with a big bore of some kind....leaning towards 35 cal at the moment.

My Gauntlet 30 will only do about 24 shots until it drops below the 2800 psi regulator and velocity starts to drop off, so for shooting sessions where I will be sending maybe 200 down range at 100 yards, a tethered bottle would be nice. Not sure how to calculate the number of shots before the tank drops below 2800 psi, other than trying it.
