Results Temecula Benchrest match for June, 2019

We usually shoot on the third Sunday of the month, barring changes due to holidays or other big events etc.

Next month we plan to shoot our normal 25 meter event AND have an informal 100 meter shoot using typical Field Target positions (no bench).

From the Delphi Forum. I shot HV with my “new” FT gun... First time I’ve shot my Crown modified with an old FX ST barrel and 2.5-15x Midas scope.

LDs post below:

We had a pretty decent match last Sunday, with six contestants competing in several classes. The weather was mild, starting chilly and breezy and warming into the 70's with more and more shifty winds. We had a nice (potluck?) lunch and some of us began shooting long range targets from "up top" from about 70 to over 160 yards.

We had so much fun we decided we will shoot a long range event after the next regular match, but not off benches, but rather using the Field Target "Hunter Class" style with crossed sticks and bipods (no prone, .22 cal , waisted pellets), 35fpe power level max.

Yep, light winds mostly. Some of us come to test new or modified equipment and not shoot to attain top score. I’ve shot 730 in very windy conditions with the Crown set up in .22 at 32 FPE with the STX barrel and 15.89 JSB, but wanted to try my FT setup with the Crown and an .177 ST barrel I bought from @lewis. Matt K shoots better than anyone in our club. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him shoot less than 740. He shot an HV Thomas Sunday, and I’ve seen him shoot Open with his .177 USFT and score 747 in breezy conditions. I have no doubts if Matt had shot 25M at RMAC he would have won that event...

Yup, I’ll be there. Was there last year also... The events like Speed Challenge and Precision Marksman at RMAC are more fun than the events at EBR, plus you get to do a LOT more shooting at RMAC than you do at EBR. Don’t get me wrong, EBR is fun, but RMAC is a better event if you’re a shooter...

Derrick @zx10wall kicked some ass in the Speed Challenge. He was eliminated by Matt Dubber in the semi finals. And then lost to Gerhard (Air Hunter S Africa) in the shoot off for 3rd place. Derrick was the only one to beat Matt at one of the stages during qualifying and finished first in his qualification group that included Matt... He eliminated Roelf (Air Hunters S Africa) and Tom Adams (Tomcat Airguns) on the way to his semi final loss to Matt. Derrick was smoking fast with his .25 Vulcan, the Impact Slayer... ;)

Wow, thanks for the info Mike. Got a lot more info from you than I did Derrick! LOL He was being modest I guess? Wow, his Vulcan is an "Impact Slayer" for sure. LOL

I asked him if he was gonna get an Impact and hes said he was looking at the .30 Uragan first. Should be as fast on the draw as his Vulcan?

I'm sitting here waiting on my new toy from Derrick as I type! He's talked me into going .30! LOL

Supposed to be getting his Boss delivered here today. Now I need to sell my beautiful .22 Wolverine B to make room!

Yes, he said he wants the .30 Uragan. Should be as fast as the Vulcan and more shots per fill. So you got his Boss? I think he was also selling Purple Rain, his .30 FX Bobcat. Both are great guns. ;). Take a look at Field Supply for .30 pellets. The Hatsan Vortex are re-branded JSB Exact 44.75 grain pellets. Much cheaper than JSB.

Fussel,

I have no idea who you are, and, being old fashioned, generally I'm less inclined to chat with strangers. Mahaps I should know who you are, but old guys like me forget more easily I guess. But the post about having to login rubs, since my airgun forum has been around for nearly 20 years, and includes lots of technical info regarding airgun stuff, and yet (still) includes ALL posts and most pictures, for those inclined to page back for it, unlike all the places that come and go. And yes, I am a stickler for folks introducing themselves at "my place", as I consider it common courtesy.

As to Mike Manabe, he has dropped out of the airgun benchrest game, seemingly due to the stress of trying to meet his own high expectations scorewise.

LD

I'm basically just an east coast air gun enthusiast nobody. We've never met. I used to enjoy Manabe's posts on your matches and followed his posts.

Sorry I rubbed ya the wrong way buddy. Just figured that since you posted your link on here it was for others to see? Got too many passwords to try an remember already, and that's the reason I mentioned having to log into another forum. Manabe just made it easy with it all here on one page is all. He spoiled me I guess!

Have a good day sir.
