A sad day for sure, the more attention we draw to air guns, the more pressure to "control" them. Just when you think things can't get worse, they do. Where does it end?

Sad as it is there is no way to stay under the radar with the power of the guns we now have. You can't fix stupid and there are plenty stupid's out there to mess us up. Just enjoy our sport while you can and don't let this get you down.

Manufacturers inventing more powerful, fully automatic, larger caliber Airguns is a huge mistake in my opinion! The market for such is relatively small in our hobby, if one needs that much energy...go with .22 Powder burner. If the manufacturers do not regulate themselves....the Govt. will...this will lower margins and ruin the business opportunity. Please be responsible inventors / engineers so that we all can enjoy our AG freedoms.

I generally agree with the above 4 posts as to what might happen. I mentioned this a year or so back and was dismissed by many. I enjoy seeing development myself and I have interest in the SKS rifle. Hopefully nothing regulatory will come from this but it may focus attention on a growing trend in air guns-larger calibers/more power/semiauto/fullyauto.

They just join media things "high powered" it couldnt even bust thru the tempered glass thats weak not even 12 foot pounds no one with that mindstate would just get into high powered pcp you gotta get a compressor an do research an no one who does that kinda stuff would do all that. We should be alright.

The typical media journalist genius’s don’t know the difference between a clip or a magazine. Don’t know the difference between semi and full auto. A PCP air rifle is a concept they couldn’t possibly understand nor will they go to any length to educate themselves to learn about it. The medias job is to instigate fear and disinformation. We’ll see where this goes.

Glad no one was hurt. There aren’t going to be devastating effects when looking at the big picture. I’ll bet no one outside the local where it happened will even hear about it. Not going to make national news. Heck I bet this happens A LOT every day across this country.
