Ted's holdover

He took his ball and went home.

Met him at Utah Airguns grand opening. Still in the business, but with YouTube's war on shooting sports, and family, he's taken a hiatus for a bit. He has plans to post some things this year, though wasn't specific. Doing a quality video takes lots and lots of time, and I think he, like many other YouTuber's kinda burned out. It's a lot of work to produce a 15 minute video and he, like most YouTubers has a day job and family.

I'm looking forward to seeing more work from Ted, but might be a while. Sometimes getting those creative juices going again to entertain the rest of us can be quite a challenge.

I also miss his videos as he does a great job on the range and I think that others are doing all the reviews like aeac and others hes just out shooting and enjoying life with family 

His videos are fun to watch, hope he come back soon. I do not care for perfect videos, just a tripod and a cel cam are enough for me.

Give him credit for choosing family and real life over what for most is our hobby. I've always enjoyed his videos and have learned a lot from them. Seems like a nice guy.

Family and your own well being first. But if your out there somewhere Ted , you are missed.

Also know the way youtube is handing out cash has changed, many are not making money from it anymore like they once did. The days of a five figure income from a gun channel on youtube is long gone.



Now we see the people that make videos because they want to put out good information. C&Rsnal, Forgotten Weapons, hickock45, all put out very good quality videos....some have gone to get funding via other means, I am ok with that. These people have a desire to really educate, and are doing something they love to do.....the ones you see going away are the ones that did it as a living.....they wanted money.

Personally I don't care to see one sided "reviews", If I want to watch a commercial I can turn on the TV.

Don't know what you have against the guy but the general consensus is that he is putting his family first and has back off the tedious task of producing quality, informative videos (of which he has made plenty) My kids have a saying...you would if you could...you don't because you can't....haters gonna hate. 

 Extreme benchrest is here and gone , and so are some of the players until next year ....

Teds my favorite airgun youtube personality, his reviews have always been on the money,hes probably being "father of the year!'

Ted is to blame for my addiction, watched him before YouTube went left wing and he got me and my bud deep in the PCP world. 15k later I do wish he posted more but with Bob O and the South Africa guys filling the void its helps a lot. I wish I had the time to make videos, not going to happen. Saturday is pest day and Monday is back at the grind with 12-14 hr days. 

I normally don’t pipe in on argumentative topics like this can become, but I’m going to on this one. I’m with Hookster, as it was Teds videos that put the smile of “want” in my face over PCP’s. I know for sure he’s done the same for probably hundreds more, cause I’ve seen comments like Hooksters before. 

What really bugs me, man, is as soon as I saw an inquiry about Ted, I knew it was gonna get bogus negative assault. It always does. C’mon, do folks really think they are forever gonna make a kick a$$ living making videos on YouTube? Really? I don’t see it, not for the lifestyle I live. I chose to do a skilled trade to put food on my table. I wanted to be a cartoonist, but that pays peanuts. Can’t raise a family on that hourly wage(I looked up cartoonists wages)

I always knew, that one day, these YouTube income only folks were eventually going to get a real job, especially once a family is in the picture. Can you say health insurance, lol?

Yes, Ted lived an awesome life, that most would envy making fun vids over cool toys, and in that time, he’s changed a lot of lives for the best. To bring happiness by introducing an awesome hobby to someone has got to mean something. Now, he’s got other obligations, more more important than a pre charged pneumatic video making lifestyle. 

To the ones that bag on him, watch out. Ted is no average joe dummy. He will shine as he makes a comeback. I’d bet on it.

There are a lot of PCP youtube channels that filled the void.

I’m not sure Ted used YouTube as his primary source of income. He surely benefited from it with gear, sponsorships, and what not... but if you think he’s getting rich of YouTube videos then I think you overestimate the size of the airgun YouTube market. 

His drop off in video production happened as his kids started getting older so it’s possible that the demands of working full time, plus being a husband and father just forced him to slow down. Hell, I barely have 2 or 3 hours each night to myself before I have to hit the sack and start the grind over the next day.

What I have against the guy is he is putting on a false front.....and a blind man on a flying horse can see that. What makes you think he is putting his family first....oh yea some guy on the internet said he did and you take that at face value.

You can put out good quality videos not get paid by youtube and still have a life....look at all the people that do it now, taofledermaus, military arms channel, gun guy....just to name 3 more. You seem to be confused, I do not hate the guy.....I do not agree with his "business model".



It seems today with so many snowflakes you can't disagree with anyone and not be called a hater....shocked you did not call me a racist.....I guess if the topic at hand was southern gunner (I do like that guy and he puts out good quality videos) I would be called a racist.

You are right he did at one time have many fantastic videos up....but for some reason he pulled them all, and don't tell me it was because of youtube policy, again others have videos with the same content in them.

What this guy seems to me, and backed up by comments others have made on this very board....a board he at one time owned/modded/whatever, before he got a bad comment or two, and again ran home to mommy, that this guy can't take anyone saying anything bad about him. His last few videos are pure commercials, or out right to make products look bad. He is biased as bias can be.

But then again this board has issue with people saying things that hurt feelings, and I am sure I will likely get a ban hammer, or have this post deleted.....you have to love everything or your thoughts are censored.

One last thing....read these posts from people.....really this guy has gotten so much fan attn it makes Patrick Mahomes look like a nobody. And if you say anything critical of him you get negative marks against you...people call you names...it really is very funny.

There was a time when I watched every Ted video that came out, him modding his Mrod, I loved his 2100 videos, his hunting videos, and shooting targets hanging from his drone was very educational....but then he changed.....he became a corporate *****....and that is pure fact....be objective and know his history and you know that to be true. Even his last "hunting" videos where he was removing pests from his bird house at his new home....well that was some irresponsible shooting....I don't care how well you "know" your gun, if something went sideways and you missed your target for whatever reason that pellet was going lord knows where.....I think he has pulled this video as well....I will need to check.

Point is from his history on youtube, and on this forum from the stories I have read from many different people, this guy can dish it out but can't take it....and that is one reason I think he is not posting content any longer.....and hiding behind this "family" line.

We will see if my posts get the censor hammer, or I get a ban for voicing my thoughts on the man....and if you think I called him names or whatever, I guess if I wish to keep posting here I will need to pretend I am sitting around a campfire with schmores and singing joy to the world. 

Wow. I guess myself, and I assume most people just hit the thumbs down button and move on if we come across a video we don’t like. I wouldn’t think of going to a forum and posting an angry tirade against someone I used to like and now don’t.

I’m sorry that Ted hurt your feelings and I hope you find closure someday.
