Teds Holdover and Ted's Holdover Which is the real Ted?

Ted - I love watching the older videos from time to time, but have question.

I'm currently subscribed to two channels on YouTube that claim to be Ted's Holdover! One is uploading your old videos so they show as new. Is it really you?

The channel names are Ted's Holdover and Teds Holdover, Only difference in the name is the apostrophe.

Both channels use the same pictures and such, so my question is, are you rebuilding Ted's Holdover or has someone hijacked a second channel for some reason? The reason I ask is that I left a question on the second channel and the answer was completely nonsensical. That didn't sound like Ted!

Many thanks,Videos are great, but if it isn't the real Ted, I'd just as soon leave the impostor in the rear view mirror.

Interesting. I tried to replicate your results. I used firefox, google search for TEDS HOLDOVER and all I got was the TED'S HOLDOVER results. So I went directly to YOUTUBE, and repeated the same query. I did get two hits for "teds" without the apostrophe, for a couple specific videos, then a few minutes later tried the same search and they are no longer showing up. So I am having a hard time finding your results so maybe they have removed them? If not could you describe how you found the channel?

Interestingly, the second without the apostrophe has a total of 37 subscribers where the original has 369,000 subscribers. The front page looks identical to the original, except it only has about 30 videos, and they seem to be older for the most part.

YouTube suggested the channel for me through the automated recommendation system, so not sure how it really works. Hope the links help. Using Chrome, but I can't see how the browser would make any difference.

Many thanks! It's a bit wierd because these "Old" videos are showing up on my feed as "New" videos just uploaded with Zero views, and I'm getting e-mail updates that these "New" Videos are available. Imagine my surprise to see Ted's Pigeon Pie recipe as a new when I first saw it several years ago. That's the one that raised my suspicion.

Let me know if you need anything else to track this down. I'll send whatever i have

Mystery solved. Teds Holdover had this notice on the home page:

Tài khoản này đã bị chấm dứt do chúng tôi nhận được nhiều khiếu nại vi phạm bản quyền của bên thứ ba có liên quan đến tài liệu mà người dùng đã đăng.

According to Google Translate, it's Vietnamese for:
This account has been terminated because we received multiple complaints of copyright infringement by third parties relating to material the user posted.

Sounds like Ted got it taken care of.

Good luck at bench rest!

Unfortunately it's common in the YouTube world, especially with popular channels.

They make a "clone" of the account. Upload the same videos and once they've developed a large enough footprint they attempt various social engineering with YouTube support to get the real Ted taken offline and assume his subscribers. Glad to see this was stopped before it caused any damage
