Target shooting pellets

First off what do you consider long range FT? 55yd is the max for current FT and .177 is your best bet. What rifle are you going to use? Do you have a chronograph? Do you have 55yd to test how it groups with the pellets you have? All very important info to answer your question.

Ft = .177 ( I have used a .22 but .177 is the way to go) and the correct JSB ( rarely crosman premier in the 1250 count box) 103g in my case.

Shoot what you like and what shoots best in your gun. Generally use flat heads for close and domed heads for far. Generally spring guns like lighter pellets and PCPs like heavier pellets. I shoot Premier heavies and lights for field target and rifle silhouette. Lots of people seem to like JSBs or Air Arms domed pellets for FT and rifle silhouette. I shoot Champions Choice or H&N flat head pellets for 10 meters. For pistol silhouette and for close practice I shoot whatever shoots okay, the cheaper the better including but not limited to Daisy flat heads, RWS basics and hobbies and whatever else I happen to have. In the basement I am more interested in working on form and technique than accuracy.
