Target/Backstop

Put this together earlier today hopefully it will do its job to stop some pellets. I took a old archery back a had and bought a replacement cover for it, than I got the small horse stall most from tractor supply for $25 and cut it to fit the back of the bag, than I took the new cover and wrapped the old target with the mat. I will use the mat as a rear back stop and shoot into the bag.

That should work fine, but I'll tell you my cheap and easy alternative. My favorite beer comes in a heavy cardboard 12 pack. I use that box to store all the junk mail catalogs we get, which fit the box perfectly. I put a layer of duct tape over the front, which makes it very durable. The catalogs usually accumulate in the new box at about the same pace as the wear on the target box, so I always have one ready for a replacement. Drink more beer.....shoot more targets, it's a can't-lose option!

I have a new old stock crossbow foam target I got from cabelas back in 1989 when I got into crossbows. Shot at that target like five times, decided the crossbow wasn’t for me, and returned it. Kept the target. I remember it is a bear to remove a bolt, as that stuff not only stops those bolts like right now, but it seals tight against the shaft, and is self healing after the bolt is removed. It’s about 4” thick. Does anyone know how that would do with pellets fired at it?
