Talon Tunes

on this past Saturday, may 7th, I purchased a Taipan Vet in .22 from Talon Tunes website, I got a confirmation email and my money is gone from my account however, I haven't heard a thing from them all week and the money was taken from from account. this is my first large airgun purchase as I've only even dealt with pyramid air. is it usually this slow? I've seen others having it shipped next day. or are they just backed up right now? very strange

Well, there is no "they", just Tony. You will find a great range of feedback on his service. I've had 2 transactions with him and both went well. His resources are limited, and the market is booming, so I'm sure he is challenged to maintain quality customer service. Since all the pandemic market disruption, I don't buy from small shops unless I can have a direct conversation with the owner. Send an email or leave a message, "I want to place an order, please call me". If there is no response, then I figure we don't have time for each other.

Give Tony a call.

I just went through an attempted gun purchase with TT. When no action seen (the last one from them had shipped in a couple of business days) I called and found out that their inventory system could not keep up with demand, plus he sells guns via texts and phone calls as well as orders directly via the site.

So the "in stock" gun I had ordered wasn't actually in stock/available when I ordered it, and it would maybe be available towards the end of the month. Not trusting the availability times the suppliers give these days to shops like TT, I cancelled the order.

I made a pellet order from Utah air guns this past Saturday. Mid way through the week and I still didn’t receive a shipped notification. This had me worried because I ordered jsb hades, and 34 grains that have been out of stock everywhere for quite some time. In a paranoia over my pellets being back ordered I CALLED THEM!
they told me the warehouse was a bit backed up and they should ship by the end of the week. That’s all it took to put my mind at ease.
call first. If you get no answer, then maybe it deserves a post here, but at least give him the benefit of the doubt!

I've had excellent service from Tony. As others have said, just give him a call. He answers texts as well. He's probably getting your gun setup for you and just backlogged.

I had emailed him and he got back to me within 20 minutes saying he was working on it, i just needed something to put my mind at ease because 1500 is a lot to spend for me

rest easy with your money in Tony’s hands. He has been around a long time and will not do you wrong. I got 2 guns from him and many have bought far more from Tony. he is also very good at tuning and getting the gun to shoot as expected from high end guns. Make sure you email him with your ammo and power level of choice or he will just tune with JSB to best power and accuracy.

my only gripe I had with Tony in my last gun is I told him NOT to tune it because I will change barrel and tune as soon as I get the gun. But he tuned it anyways, I could of gotten my gun a day early!! 😂

I ordered my .22 Verteran Long w/ plenum upgrade from Talon at the end of February. It took a full 4 weeks to get the gun. At the time I was a bit irritated by the situation. I felt (and still feel) that was too long to wait for a gun that was listed as in stock on the website. Apparently the gun was not sitting there with the plenum installed and ready to go. It had to be built and tuned. He said he was very busy and needed to find the time to do the work. That may have been true or maybe he didn't have the plenum or maybe didn't have the gun. I'm not sure it matters. If he would have told me when I placed my order it will take 4 weeks, I still would have ordered it. But I would not have been so anxious about the wait.

I called Tony every week about it. He always answered my call. He could have easily seen it was me that was calling and not answered, but he didn't, he always picked up and talked me off the ledge. He delivered a gun, that so far, I've been very happy with. For what it's worth that was my experience. Would I order from him again? Probably, but I'd want to know up front the "real" time it will take to get what I ordered.

With my search for my high end Airguns I ended up with Spaw and georgia Airguns. Both basically one man operations, which means waiting, but you get a superior product in the end and it’s worth it. I would say it is 100% necessary to call before buying anything from them because of that.

I called talon tunes and got on the phone right away, but I called early before he started his tuning day. Super nice and honest guy. He didn’t sell me stuff I didn’t need for my purpose. Sign of a good company. Talon won’t do you wrong.

I've been waiting on my long since late Feb, was quoted 3 weeks. I'm getting it in 22 with the plenum and a donnyfl. Haven't gotten many responses to any communication. I understand the one man show and stuff being messed up right now so have been patient.

When he finally got back to me he said the receiver was messed up and had to wait on a replacement. All while I've seen other people receive theirs that was ordered after mine. Never did get a response to when they were gonna be back in stock. About to just cancel.

Hagen- I completely understand your misgivings, but Tony could have shipped you a gun with that damaged receiver and claimed it occurred during transport. But he would not do that. I have been waiting on an impact since January- long story but since the M3 drop- I changed my order to that model and had several chats with Tony and he said what I already knew “Fx” - you know the deal.

I have paid a sizable deposit back in January and have NO CONCERNS about my order coming correctly.
