Talon p or condor ss?

I've wanted to try an airforce PCP for a bit but always been a bit timid about it.

The whole no regulator, the flex of the rifle, top hat upgrade ooh and the whole sear thing has kept me from grabbing one up.I love the look of the talon p in a maddog stock but I don't want a .25 caliber,I want a .22 then there's the whole it has to be backyard friendly for sure and I know the p model is loud but the talon SS is not but it will get costly to go talon SS with maddog stock not that I don't have the cash I'm just afraid I might be disappointed with one but man I love USA made products and I'm on the fence about one.Im not a hunter only a plinker Soo what's your guys thoughts about one? Should I or shouldn't?

Thanks

The TalonP only comes in .25 so it is disqualified right there unless you buy a replacement barrel AND a moderator. I have mine in a Mad Dog Bulldog stock and an extended bottle with a Talon Tunes Moderator. It is accurate to 100 yards and a hammer in power with JSB 25.4, 34 and 52 hand grain cast ammo. The Talon SS is lower power and is quite but becomes almost soundless with the addition of a DonnyFL Shogun moderator to it.

Keep an eye out for a used gun. I have acquired most of mine on the used and parts market.

I have 3 Condors (.22, .25, .257), 1 Condor SS (.25), 1 TalonSS (.25 custom), 1 TalonP and one .457 Texan so I am not sure I am impartial in my recommendations! lol

Most of the above are in Mad Dog Ultima stocks and the Texan is in a Raptor Long.

I dig AF guns. They're easy to work on and super flexible.

I have 3 of them... Condor, Talon, and a Talondor (did have 5). However, since the Wildcat moved in almost 2 1/2 years ago, the AF guns (all guns) sit mainly in my gun cabinets.

My favorite AF set-up is a Condor with an 18" barrel and MD stock. I have 12, 18, & 24" barrels and all 4 calipers. They're fun...

Go for it!

My opinion having a Condor for two weeks now and previously owning and shooting two different FX rifles both very smooth and accurate I really like my new used Condor. It is a different feel and shoots slugs that my FX barrels won't. Turning the power adjusting wheel down makes it real tame but turn it all the way up and it becomes a monster. I've only had time to shoot pellets at 50 yards at lower power wheel settings and it is accurate. I need more time with it to see how a stock Condor acts at higher power settings.

I suggest you purchase a Talon SS then you have a quiet platform probably accurate enough for your plinking and short enough to be comfortable and if you want shorter put a 12 in barrel and shroud then you have a Talon P kind-of (different valve) but still what you wanted in the first place. As for the MD stock, add it later.

An opinion from a fellow airgunner !

All the best
