Taipan slug accuracy?

What happens when you shoot slugs through your 25 caliber Taipan Veteran standards and longs?

Is the magazine capable to function with the longer projectiles?

Is that sterling accuracy still present with slugs?

Are you casting and if so which mold, what diameter?

Surely, you jest!

At the range last week shooting Neilsen 34.7gr slugs through my Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal., tuned to push the projectile at 62-63 fpe at muzzle, I was able to get decent -- less than JSB 33.93gr. -- accuracy at 50 yards. At 100 yards my groups were totally unacceptable.

I happened to see a disclaimer on UA's website stating they have, so far, been unable to get pellet-like accuracy shooting slugs through available barrels. That haas been my experience also.

I haven't tested them at greater than 50 yards, but the 22.5 grain D-RIG slugs (Varmint Knocker) through my .22 Mutant Standard were just about as accurate as the 18.1 grain JSB Heavies. I do not know at what velocity they were shooting, but the JSB 18.1s were shooting at about 900 FPS.
