Taipan Mutant std gets its first coney DRT!

So far, I have had way more shots through the Vulcan, and it too is a laser, but believe it might be a better longer range gun. It works well for my needs, but is quite heavy with the 8.5-20 Hawke Sidewinder. From a bench with my bipod... It will be awesome though.

For the impromptu pest targets that show up in my yard, the Vulcan has proven itself. However, the Taipan earned its keep tonight. It is light, quick, no fumbling around, and quieter even with the factory shroud compared to the Vulcan tactic AND a moderator!!. If I add a Clague or Danny du LDC it will be quieter still. I have a Weihrauch .25 LDC coming and will try that on the Vulcan, and have to believe it would be quieter.

Both the Vulcan and Taipan triggers are awesome. The first stage on both is great, and second stages very predictable. There are folks that say the mutant trigger is better. In my opinion, they are both good, but I did notice what seemed like a tiny bit of sponginess on the second stage on BOTH before they released. It is probably something that could be adjusted out over time. They are top notch, and bullpups always have some compromise or other with their triggers. That said, neither is a Weihrauch Rekord trigger, which is what I grew up with.

I would recommend both platforms. I think I have found my two go to rifles that will take care of all needs. The .22 Mutant has a 60 shot count at 34FPE and my Tactic .25 gives me 40 full power shots at around 49FPE All bases are covered with these.
