Taipan Mutant .25

I don't think they post here but try asking Wildwest or Talon Tunes. I got my Mutant from Wildwest and I'm fairly sure that if there is any actual info about a date for the 25 cal, they would know about it.

The way I estimate release dates is once the first pics are posted of the actual unit and a release date has been announced, I add 7 months to get the real date for when they will be in stock. I can't recall an occasion where an air gun was released on time.

While there has been a lot of chatter, none of it has been from the manufacturer and no pics have been seen yet to my my knowledge. IMO that most likely means it won't be available any time soon.

Now.... Some people will say they have heard from a reliable source that it will be released in January or Feb. Earlier in the year people were saying they heard reliably that it would be here in November (which it clearly wasn't).

When a product is nearly ready, manufacturers usually can't wait to start telling people about it and showing off photos to generate a little pre-release buzz. No pics likely means it's not ready which means it won't be in stores any time soon.

Actually, there is a video from the manufacturer and some info

The changes are the following.
The main changes
"anti second bullet" system
Reinforced construction for 6.35
Increased reservoir ( 280cc for std, 350cc for long )
Tilt plank picatinny 20 moa
Barrel mounting thread
It changed the design of the pressure reducing valve

"phokingood"Thank much for the reply, good to know. How do you like your Mutant? I've heard great things about them.

fwiw I've read a lot of your post on here while researching and you offer up a lot of great information. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!
I love it. It's quiet, accurate out of the box, efficient, reliable, light, short and has a very adjustable trigger. It's very easy to shoot.

It's stopped me buying a number of new guns since I got it because all I can think is "would I really use this while my Mutant is there".

If you want one just get it now and don't bother waiting for the 25. Part of the joy with this gun is the low noise signituture and who knows how quiet the 25 would be.

Nice. I hadn't seen that. Still not holding my breath on the release date. If they say Feb that usually means the end of summer (the following year).

Oh man. Planting the seeds in my head :) My prod does a great job with noise and power around the house as I live in the city...looking to get something that can reach out a bit more when I'm hunting and not in my deer stand. I suppose the .22 version could do just that as well but it would be nice to have that extra oomph.

I'm pretty new to the pcp world and its cool there are a lot of options out there...and at the price point of the mutant compared to some other more popular guns seems to be quite the bargain.

Where did the video come from? I can't find a website for them and he hasn't uploaded a video to YouTube in 4 years.

I have the Taipan Mutant Standard and I love it! I sold my modded Prod and I haven't touched my .25 Synrod since I got it. I will probably get the .25 when it comes out but I'll wait to see if it has any kinks that need to be worked out. The .22 is so powerful I'm not really sure that I can justify a .25. When I hit a bird with the 18.13s at 900 fps --- whoosh!!! Love it!

Do not fall for the Mutant 22 , Its a trap.
They are so accurate, so short, so silent, so fun to shoot,
You will be trapped, Dreaming of a 25,
LOL, I got a two PCP limit,
I have two Crickets 22 and 25 tuned by the master himself, I do not need to say his name everyone knows him,
Now I got a 22 Mutant, its not going no where, That's three,
The Mutant 25 is coming out soon, My two gun limit is over the limit,
I will just extended it to four, Just this once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike

I love my Mutant std in .22 it's the gun I grab nearly everytime for keeping critters at bay in my yard and for target shooting. It's reasonbly priced, quiet, accurate, consistent, powerful, high shot count.... sixty plus shots @ 920fps with JSB 18.13gr pellets.
The trigger is one of, if not the best adjustable trigger out there. The cocking action and magazine function is like a Swiss watch! Get one.
I lucked out that Tony at Talon Tunes selected a very nice figured stock for me. I know some folks have less fancy grade stocks, and some are downright Fugly. That said, there is not much that can beat this platform at this price point when comparing features and functionality. I will absolutely buy a .25 cal variant when they are available!
I already said this gun was quiet, and it's the quietest out of the box gun I own. It can be made quieter though by adding a DonnyFL LDC I have the FatBoy, but I also use a Weihrauch LDC too, and then it's even more stealthy!

A target below shows 9 x 12 shot groups at 50yds.
