Tactical Training with an Airgun?! - New Video Series

I've had fun with a SIRT laser pistol. It is of the appropriate weight and balance, durable, and great for practicing indoors without spending a penny on ammo.

There are laser targets available on Amazon and elsewhere for it, or you can just "plink" around the house or set up a station yourself. And there is really good software to time and judge your shots too.

Just got this Sig P250 today and boy does it kick! It feels kinda like my Beeman P1 (HW45) recoil but only thing the Sig is a semiauto! Kinda difficult to stay on target with the kick while taking the shots. After getting used to it (almost used to with a TWO HANDED FIRM GRIP!) the groups shrank from 3-4 inches to 1.5 inches at 10 yards Still trying to get used to it. Tried and clamped it to my vise with some pads and got almost ragged hole Like almost fly hitting capable at 10 yards!

I would say that a Sig P250 is a decent trainer that has real kick to it!

IDPA course with air guns, I bet would gather a huge following. The cost, and lack of place to shoot keeps a lot of people out of these pb shooting sports, air guns would be cheaper ( ammo cost) and for now the pistol cost should be less expensive, Would not require the shooting facilities a pb does, but only until it catches on and they start designing guns for it, then the cost for a pcp pistol will surpass the cost of powder burners I am sure. Just like so many of the rifles have now,

I'll use a stapler for self-defense if that's all that's available but commitment is the only thing that will keep you alive. We have a lot of home invasions and drive-by's in my area so I have to keep the proper tools nearby. Not to say that I haven't used airguns to train - as I bought ones that are identical to my 'real' tools to practice with. It's a lot safer to practice your drills with an empty airgun than a 'hopefully' empty powder-burner.

I agree, it's all about trigger time. That's why I got back into airguns...more trigger time for the money. Be it precision shooting, or training for self defense. I'm waiting on delivery of my Sig P365 CO2 BB pistol for backyard practice. It will compliment the rifles well, and should add to dry fire training.

I've been debating investment in a SIRT pistol plus software, but will wait until I get some time with the CO2 BB pistol.

Thank you Michael for bringing this subject up.
