Tactacam settings

Hello

I have three different settings for the three different modes. Go in to the mode in the app you want to adjust and then go to settings and pick what you want for that mode. Once that is done you can quick select Sith the button in the field. White balance I leave at auto, however I do like "day" setting as the image is more rich in the daylight, but if you are going from day to shadow, such as looking at a squirrel in the shade of a tree it can be hard to not have a grainy picture if it's not auto adjusting. This feature could be getter on this camera. I am still paying with it, but this is what I have so far.

Green mode I have set to 2.7K 30 - zoom is half way. I have white balance auto. Image stabilization will not stay on on 4k so that is why I have it at 2.7k. Frequency will not change from 50 to 60 no matter what you do. So don't bother. Vibration on. Everything else off. Exposure set to factory 0.0 for all three modes.

Blue mode I have set to HD120. Zoom 3/4. image stabilization on. vibration on. White balance auto. Slow mo on.

Light blue mode I have set to HD240. Zoom set to full. image stabilization on. vibration on. white balance auto. Slow mo on.

Any amount of light is your enemy. You have to wear a hat if you are in sunlight. Also the scope shim will let light in. The crease of the shim has to be on the bottom of the scope. Even that lets some light in. I had to use electrical tape to cover the gap as best I could. Enough light and you end up looking at your own eye. Do what you can to keep as much light as you can out of the prism. Use the app on landscape mode and level your rifle, then level the reticle in the app. Also your eye piece has to be set for the camera not you. If the reticle is a little fuzzy use the eye piece to adjust.

No matter what you do, if you shoot somewhat off hand or with the gun on your shoulder the video will be overly shaky. Nothing you can do about it.

I like they system better than the side shot phone but the go pro stuff is better in a lot of ways, but I didn't want to have to change out lenses. The picture quality will not blow you away, but I do not regret the purchase, in fact I am buying another one for another rifle so I can go in between them both for my day hunting trips, then edit the videos together. Share your videos once you get all dialed in.

Keep mine set at 120fps, 8x zoom (light blue color on "Mode" button), 1980x1080 resolution. Don't remember my exposure setting (it's out in the car & I'm too lazy to get it now). If you need it I'll send it to you tomorrow. (I'll shoot you a call in the afternoon) Gerry

Gerry,

Thanks for getting back to me on PM. I figured the light issue out, but I would also like your exposure settings once you can get to it. As I said I am still playing with it.

First one is first try at the settings. Was wearing a hat because I had a light issue coming in scope.

This one is after some fine tuning and getting less light in the scope. No hat this time.

Both filmed at 1080 at 120 frames, white balance auto. Yes, I know - I am shooting a little left. lol
