Anybody ever use a tactacam on a Airgun to film their hunts? A buddy gave me one he had bought and never used. Waiting on a mount to come in to use it now.

I’m waiting to review said FPS 
. Pretty poor sales/marketing communication thus far. It makes me think one of 2 things:
1) initial testers had significant enough feedback it required changes
and/or
2) normal China manufacturing timeline BS

Got to shoot some video this weekend on a hog hunt with the tactacam. Video is good with my gun mounted kill light on. Without the light can’t see anything, which is what I figured. Going to try a IR light with it and see if it will pick it up in the dark.

Got the FTS system on its way. Hopefully shortly I will have some decent video with it. Still have to figure out editing. No hogs on cameras the past few weeks so probably going to turn into a coon or squirrel hunt.

Cool. I've been able to dial it in. In the context of scope cams... it's super easy to setup. I'll be making some videos on it soon, but just hit me up with questions

it's not a NV camera... the IR light won't do anything. You can use a red filter on a normal High Lumen light if you want to try and not spook things.

the 5.0 is the newest camera... they just released a proprietary scope mount. It's actually pretty sweet. Super small and light. I'll have an initial write-up on it maybe tomorrow or this weekend if you're interested

Thanks. Yes, definitely interested... Would you recommend the 5.0 or since just shooting through scope is the 4.0 just as good?

I use green kill lights on my gun. Also have green hog lights on feeders. When shooting coons at one of the setups, the green feeder lights didn’t show up very well on the tactacam without my gun mounted light being on. Hogs are spooky with the gun mounted lights, but don’t worry about the feeder light too much. I’m hoping the FTS system will help with the video. I always see very well thru my scope to make my shots and can see my crosshairs. Hopefully it will capture shot placement.
Any suggestions on editing? I mainly use iPads but not real tech savey either.

You should be ok. It has a ton of different modes, but I would shoot in either 120 or 240 fps if you want capture shot placement. The lighting is always the key. Low light is tough unless you’re using a NV scope and IR.
checkout an app called videoleap for iOS. Amazing. I do 100% of my channel on it.

Got my FTS and another Tactacam in yesterday. Watched all the videos last night on getting it set up so I can work on that today.

Got everything set up and shot a few targets. I like it, but still trying to figure out how to use the Tactacam app on the phone and scope at the same time correctly. I did shot one of my spinner targets at 30 yards just using the phone to aim. Think I will need to change my scope out again to a larger scope. The field of view is very narrow even on 6x at 30yards. Might have to put the FTS on my powder burner to see what the field of view will look like thru a larger scope. Hopefully I can figure things out this up coming weekend.
