You 100% need to use the phone app set it up, and to dial it in for the first time. It takes a little bit of tinkering to get it perfect, but you just leave the adapter (or even FTS) on your scope after.
all of these cameras are about controlling the light. To film in 240fps you really need almost full sun. I would film in 120fps at the max resolution most of the time. Never film in 4K through the FYS... the footage will not be great as the frame rate is just way too slow.
using the app, you can setup preset modes. Then you just simple toggle between them based on lighting conditions
