Inspired by the excellent work of AGN member Bob_O, I decided to venture into video recording of my own airgun hunting(?) exploits. Got the "Sideshot Scope mount", (D-), but I will withhold final assessment until I've used it a bit more.

My most recent acquisitions are:

*The Tactacam 5.0 with the gun mount. After initially feeling that I could utilize this device, which is probably better suited for bowhunters, I am on the verge of repacking and returning it.

*Now comes my ATN X-Sight 4K Pro Smart Day/Night Rifle Scope. This system, which arrived yesterday -- UPS -- seems at first glance to be quite promising.

The ATN 4K Pro works, but leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. With the latest up date firmware, my night vision seems worse, although some claim it made things better. I recently bought some Busnell night vision binoculars, for around $250, and they are about 20 times better for night vision. I also have some security cameras that have IR illumination, and the quality of them is also 20 times better. I wound up sticking my 4K Pro on my Prod, with rifle stock, just for giggles. It is sorta fun shooting at tree frogs, as their eyes light up with the IR. I also have an ATN X-sight ll, that I think works better than the 4K Pro. But both are rather heavy, and large, and the X-sight ll requires an external battery pack.

I had a ATN X-Sight 4K Pro but sent it back. My wife bought me one for my birthday and I returned last week. I opened the box and it looked promising, charged the unit, did the firmware update. After mounting the unit I was sighting it in and going through the menu when all of a sudden it shut off. I thought that I didn't charge the battery long enough but it was charging over night about 10 hours so that couldn't be it. I tried everything but it still wouldn't turn on so I called the place where my wife got it for me (optic planet) and sent it back to them. I was really disappointed being that I read all of the reviews and thought they worked out all of the bugs, but I guess not.
