SWFA Airgun Scope !

Do partridge and squirrel heads count as a Field Target . Lol I made a few changes to the Discovery reticle I like . Yes it’s FFP and MIL/MIL and red / green illuminated .

HFT is the fastest growing class for entry level shooters entering an airgun class of competition. An ideal place to see this need first hand will be the Nationals in Baton Rouge in October. The list of optics shooters are using can be found here under registration report. It should give you a fair representation of what HFT shooters are looking for. They are 40% of the total entries.

I like a lot of the ideas being suggested but a common suggestion is numbers next to the dots/hash/ diamond and I totally agree. I shoot silhouette matches and it’s easy to use the wrong holdover mark and numbers would help tremendously!

I like the reticle in the Tac Vector 4-18x50 scope but the dot needs to be illuminated. Make it in regular focus plane

I have to agree with others who have said that they prefer the MOA-Quad retical. At mid ranges, I hold under, so the top half of the retical gets a lot of use. A Christmas tree would be appreciated, but keep it simple. I don’t really think that the Christmas tree needs all of the subtensions of the main crosshairs. The visual weight of the current stadia lines is just about perfect in my opinion.
Coincidently, I just ordered a 16x42 SWFA SS scope a week ago to use on a rifle that I shoot at ranges as close as 10 meters and as distant as 100 yards. When it arrived, the only thing that I didn’t like was that it wouldn’t focus down to ten yards, as indicated on the SWFA website and on the focus ring of the scope itself. It was way off, focusing no closer than 13 yards. For me, this is a deal breaker, and I suspect that I’m not alone. When I called about the issue, the customer service rep said that it was just a problem with the unit that was sent to me, and that they would be able to provide a scope to me that would meet their published specification. Yesterday, my scope went out via UPS, on its way back to Texas, where I have been told that SWFA will hand screen their inventory to find a scope that meets the minimum focus spec. That’s good service. If SWFA is serious about serving the airgun market, the ten yard minimum focus specification will need to get high priority.

Something like this...
Above reticle is fully illuminated, two colors, red/green. Does not bloom even at highest setting. The Christmas tree is effective and unobtrusive, you don’t notice it unless you’re using it. The center dot does not obscure the POI when used at 25x. I don’t pest past 100 yards so it works great for me.

Thin the lines out a little, put a floating dot, eliminate it, put one in moa; it would work perfect for me!

I really like the SWFA's reputation of being a tough scope, with turrets that withstand my frequent elevation dialing! 
However, I have not purchased the 3-15x42 yet — because it does not have an illuminated recticle, something pretty basic these days....
Yes, I will buy only FFP, and MIL/MIL is the only choice, and yes, for numbers for every two mils on the hash lines I will be grateful.
If I get to have additional wishes.... — make the turret dials not quite as ugly....
A turret that dials 10 mils per revolution instead of 5 mils is much easier to handle when dialing for long range shoots — I don't get lost as easily in how many turns I already went aroud.....
