SURELY arrived!!!

Holy cow! That's not your average everyday FX, Daystate gun. That rifle is stunning! The bipod also has me intrigued. I've never come across it. It's post like this that make me want to venture out to different platforms of airguns. Congrats Steve!

Thanks!

LRA stands for Long Range Accuracy, inc.

It's lighter than the some of the more heavy duty bipods which is nice in certain occasions, and at the same time way more solid feeling than my other Harris bipods. It also puts the fulcrum point up closer to the barrel helping with torsional effects present in PB's.

Whoa, what an absolutely beautiful rife and stock. Surely is definitely a stunner and I will not forget her name!

I do have a pretty important question though...A March scope? They are nice and all but wouldn’t you rather go with an Alpha 6? 😝 😂 😆

Just kidding people! No death threats or red balls! Just a joke!

Seriously, that rifle is a work of art!

👍😋Yuh know I had to contemplate putting that A6 on for a long time, maybe a second or two! But in it's defence it's probably a decent scope for the money.

Thanks Stoti!

I have seen many Air Guns that make me drool over the years, but that rig is now at the top. Every detail considered! if I may ask, what rings are those?

These older American Rifle Co rings are unique in that the design incorporates a strap wrench design coming from both sides of the ring opposite from each arm. The holding force is massive which won't let the scope slip as well as gentle on the scope tube. Super well made too. I used to have these on my 375CT and they were the only rings at the time that didn't mar the scopes I used. Not that I need them on SURELY but the rings were paid for already😃

Hey Steve, since you mentioned the LRA Bipods, do you happen to know anything about the company, the original owner or the history of what happened?

What I heard and don’t know if this is 100% true, is that the original owner of LRA either didn’t patent his design or ran out of money. He quit making bipods and then others started making cheap knock offs. The original owner, who didn’t protect his design, was just out of luck and out of money. For a while, up until last year, I believe, you couldn’t even find one anywhere other than the knock offs. If you did find one on E-Bay, the prices were absolutely ridiculous and there was no assurance it was real. So now, the LRA bipod Company has a new website and is selling what look to be the original design. Do you know anything about this company, if the original owner is involved or anything that transpired?

I looked online and really couldn’t find any information about it. I can’t remember who told me all of this stuff either but remember that at the time, it all sounded accurate and I trusted whoever it was that told me. This really doesn’t have anything to do with anything, other than I am curious what happened and how LRA is selling bipods again.

Does anybody out there know anything about LRA, what happened, who owns the LLC and how it all came to be? Just curious.

Thank you. Stoti

I had heard the same thing, Stoti, but nothing more.

Yep be careful not to pay for the cheap copy. I bought mine used from a guy here in AZ before the Co went out of business, I want to say 6-7 years ago.

I decided to glass bed SURELY yesterday so now there is a perfect fit between my action and stock. It turned out better than any bedding job I've done to date, YAY.

All that's left is cutting out the foam for the new hard case that I bought for SURELY.

Well and actually shooting it. I need to get my ballistic program trued out to "actual" for EFT the end of month. It's snowing right now - AGAIN! I shouldn't complain because last year was such a bad drought. This spring is going to be pretty when we get our green grass in the forest! Last year it was blond almost all year, it never really greened up, which was a bad deal.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I'll keep you guys posted with some groups on steel and paper as time goes by.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I’m not concerned with getting a fake, I just really want to know what is going on with LRA. I was able to use one, when they were originally available a while back, but it was a friends and I only got to use it for 3-4 hours. I do remember three things...It was crazy light, it was very well made and it was rock solid. I remember thinking to myself that something felt wrong, for the weight it didn’t seem possible for it to be so stable with absolutely no flex or movement at all!

The whole story about the original owner not getting a patent, running out of money and then just walking away is so bizarre. At one point I read on the internet that people were very upset that a new company was making the LRA bipod again and “taking advantage” of the original owner. Yes, it’s a sad story, but come on people...In the business world, if you neglect to apply for a patent, then you’re asking for trouble! The new owners were actually smart to jump on it, patent it themselves and takeover, having had someone else already do all the hard work!

Anyway, I was just hoping to get a little more information about what actually happened.

Back to Surely...I am jealous and envious but still very excited for you. It’s the most beautiful, sexy piece of kit that I’ve ever seen. Every part just looks perfect with every other part...The barreled action, the stock, the rings and scope, the bipod, and everything else look superb together.

Mike should start paying you kick backs for all of the traffic his web site is going to see, the questions he’s going to receive and pre orders that he’s about to get!!! 😆

Mike N, if you read this, you have outdone yourself, this is an absolute work of art. Steve C, same goes for you, the stocks you make are absolutely amazingly beautiful. Put the two together and the you guys have created a masterpiece! I fine shooting work of art that will actually get used! Surely will be the talk of the town wherever she shows up. Awesome!
