Super Easy Target Build (video)

I am one of the “new guys” that you referred to earlier and I can’t thank you enough for this simple and clever build idea. I am headed to Home Depot right now and am going to setup 2 of these for my sons and I. Seriously, thank you! I was trying to find a way to build something out of wood, lined with metal plating, that would probably weigh 50-60 pounds....never even considered the rubber mulch!

That’s awesome! Glad it’s something that can be of use to you. There are many variations of this, by no means the rubber mulch is my idea. But I did like the thought of using the small tote. It’s easy to move around, can be vertical or horizontal, and the lid makes it easy to change a fresh piece of cardboard. It’s never a bad idea to put a piece of steel on the rear though. That’s my next move.

I’m also one of the new guys here, this is actually my first post. 😀

Thank you for the video! I’ve made two of these pellet traps and can confirm they will stop a .30 Red Wolf at 50 and 100 yards.

Just slap on a new piece of cardboard and I’m ready for another session. Extremely convenient! Thanks again 👍

Great video! Thank you.

Two questions.

How tightly did you pack the mulch into the box?

After many shots have you seen any rebounding/ricocheting?

Thank you. I really only put in the rubber mulch without packing it in per se. I did build it up enough to allow enough pressure on the cardboard to hold it in plece. The cardboard is only larger than the hole, not as big as the tote. Not too full that it will bulge either.

There has been NO ricochet at all.
