Sun Optics

Sorry I was using the phone to post this and I hate trying to type on that little screen. So I was hoping you guys could help me out.

While at the Texas Airgun show I was able to talk to some folks with Sun Optics and get my hands on some of their products they look like some good quality optics but I really did not get a chance to grill the guy about what models he has in that will allow close objective focusing.
Kind of hoped maybe some of you might have used one of the scopes and have a deeper insight

Thanks
Willie

I purchased a Sun Optics scope at the Texas Airgun Show. The gentleman let me take the scope outside and look it over, and it looked good at the time. He said it was a $500 scope new, but this scope had been displayed at several shows so he sold it to me for $250.

This is the model:
CS4053056IR
ULTRA VARIABLE
5-30X56
MIL DOT RET.
30 MM TUBE
RED/GREEN IR

Unfortunately, since I took it home and mounted it on my rifle, I have realized that it was not as clear as I originally thought. I regret purchasing it, but I consider that is all my fault. I need to be more thorough when I look at a scope. But I do feel that it is worth the $250 that I paid for it.

I do like how well the turrets work. Single-click adjustments result in changes to the POI. However, there are no markings to help you keep track of how many turns you make.

After using it for a week, the scope seems to keep zero.

I am probably too picky when it comes to visual clarity, and I now realize that I need to spend much more money to get something that I will be happy with.

I have been using a Mueller Optics 8-32x44mm Target Riflescope for the past year.

It is a very clear scope, but recently I realized it has a problem keeping zero. The turrets aren't precise either.

I recently bought an MTC Optics Genesis LR 5-20×50 AMD Reticle Side Focus for $499, but that wasn't as clear as the less expensive Mueller. That was very disappointing.

I just ordered an Athlon Argos BTR 8-34 x 56 Direct Dial Side Focus Riflescope after reading the reviews on this forum. I hope this works out.

Thanks for the info,
Hey just to let you know the sun optics does have a lifetime warranty so if it is acting up give them a call and they might exchange it. Not sure about it being a floor model though
