Suggestions On 50yd Target PCP $800

Looking for a fun PCP in 177 for short distance target shooting like 15 to 50 yards. Have to put a scope on it because of crummy eyes. I am changing my budget and going FAC now that we are getting helicopter money again. Looking to stay under $800 for the gun out the door tax and shipping. Don’t want to start “the creep” where for $200 more… etc. Already have an HW100 and looking for something similar but different to shoot. I already have a lifetime supply of quality 177 pellets. Needs to be middle of the pack or better with noise. Don't want a big barker. Not a fan of Bullpups as I shoot from a rest a lot and I am used to full size rifles. Carbine type OK.

Any suggestions? Very open to going used but my experience is you earn your savings through considerable searching time, usually no warranty and risk on sellers. Not looking for a showpiece of engineering or competition gun.

CZ200 would be an excellent choice. Pyramid Air has instructions on their website on how to turn the Air Arms 200T up to 12fpe. You could probably even sell the open sights and get a few bucks back.

Another gun I would heartily recommend, if you can find one, is a BSA Scorpion SE. I bought one five or six years ago, took it out of the box and have never modded or adjusted a darn thing. Accurate and consistent FAC shooter, and - coming from a wood stock lover - even the synthetic is nice.

I have been thinking of making a nice little carbine out of a Crosman1720 and a Tom West wood stock. I have read many great reports about the accuracy of this little pcp especially when paired with a carbine stock. Decent close to mid range power and supposedly quiet with the stock Crosman shroud. I haven’t experienced one yet personally but it looks like a great option for you. Here are a couple of links. I believe there are Crosman coupon codes available to bring the price down a bit and keep the entire project right in your budget range. I think that Tom West sells his stocks on eBay as well as his website. Hope this helps.

I like the BSA Scorpion SE. Looks like they make a single shot and 10 shot around $799 regular price new in a beech stock I would definetely like the 10 shot so have to watch part numbers. I had heard they were quite loud though. What did you think?

The 1720 in a carbine is a great handy and accurate pcp.

Maybe a Marauder would be a better choice thou;the Crossman target pcps is very accurate and gets a load of shoots before running out of air.

The AA200 or CZ are the same, they have the repeater model, everyone loves it.

OK I will narrow it down,if hand pumping all of those are easy, all are accurate and will known.

Still narrowing it down....the AA and CZ are the winners, it is crazy because those are the only one I don't own.

The Crossman Target PCP is a single shot and way accurate with No fuss.

All the above are quiet enough.

BSA,the ones I have had were pellet fussy....that said they had a good feel to them and are "different".

Me ,I would rather have the Marauder with the LW barrel....just my opinion.

Marauder with the LW barrel, 1720T, AA200 or CZ or crosman challenger. Marauder being most versatile of the bunch then AA200 because of multishot capability but if you specifically asking for target PCP then I assume you are find with single shot. I probably would pick the Marauder with LW barrel for 50 yards as the best choice because it has good amount of power in comparison to most target specific rifles are all well under 12 FPE like the challenger(easily to mod) and AA200.

The Scorpion SE is most definitely loud out of the box. You will want to put something on that threaded barrel to mitigate the sound. I put a TKO moderator on it that made it go from bark to pip.

I wasn't aware that there were single shot models for sale. But the single shot trays for these guns are hard to come by, so it might be worth getting a single shot model, then getting mags after the fact.

On the Scorpion is the only difference one comes with the single shot tray and the other a mag? I assumed there was more to it than that. That would explain why they appear to be unusually close to the same price.
