Suggestions for a 2nd PCP rifle, for lower power and quieter than my .25

The stock on the synthetic HW110 felt amazing to me - fantastic trigger too.

Yes, the trigger is excellent on the 110.

The only thing I don't like about this gun is the spring-loaded magazine latch.

It can be annoying having to hold the latch open while trying to get the mag seated and indexed.

I bought a single shot adapter and prefer to use it in most cases.

Joe... thanks for that feedback. The HW110 sure felt great when I was holding one at AOA.

The FX Streamline and FX Wildcat (obviously very different designs) are two others that I'm considering.

The wildcat with a moderator is the most quiet gun I have seen. The only sound is coming from the hammer hitting the valve. This was Tomcat's set-up. Also rec. Hajimoto's review on the Kral Breaker. With all the mods you can still be under $800.00. It has a power wheel for low and high power.

Yes, the Wildcat definitely has my attention. I searched for Tomcat and found a video series on the Wildcat, but unfortunately, none of the videos are available now.

Since I live near AOA, I'm leaning toward buying from them again. (They don't sell Air Arms.). But that's ok, as right now, I think I'm down to these three:

Weihrauch HW110

FX Streamline

FX Wildcat

I've learned that the Wildcat in .25 gives 872 fps and 43 fpe with 25.4 gr JSB pellets. That represents a HUGE increase in terminal ballistics over my Brocock Bantam .25 (792 fps and 35 fpe), so I may trade the Brocock for the Wildcat in .25 as my pest control rifle and look for something else in .177 for plinking and targets. If I only knew then what I know now. (I'm sure everyone could say that, too.) Robert at AOA was trying to keep me close to the $500 price point that I was initially requested to be at when I went shopping. He definitely served me well by steering me to the Bantam .25 at its price point.

So I'm thinking I may ultimately wind up with:

FX Wildcat in .25 for pest control (43 fpe is very hard hitting!)

and

FX Streamline or HW110 in .177 for plinking and paper punching

Does that sound like a good pairing for the applications?

I had cricket and daystate xl with out shroud at the same time. Also when I got bobcat in my hand I had an opportunity to use my friends cricket.

As I know cricket has one of the best silencer on it and I set it at 39 joules at that time. In the other hand my hantsman had 51 joules with Q-tec silencer which is not bad not good and.

Surprisingly huntsman was quiter than my cricket.

My bobcat had 46 joules and at that time I used cricket with 38 joules.

As you supposed bobcat had lower noise.

All the thing I want to say is this kinds of hammer that wouldn’t bounce don’t have crack noise after use silencer.

I would suggest fx in 177 or huntsman with huma reg and shrouded. But buy fac then turn it down.

Many great guns mentioned on this list, I really like my Daystate Huntsman Regal .22 and my new Brocock Bantam Sniper HR in .22, Currently Sniper is shooting 14.3 CP's at 900 FPS and super quiet with DonnieFL Tatsu, getting over 100 shots from 240 bar fill, and gun is regulated. I said currently because with the turn of a screw I can increase power over 40 foot pounds.

Nice. Thanks for the input.

I have a HW100 that I really like and was considering the HW110, but after doing some research, I found that there may be a issue with the moderator? And when I noticed that AOA now advertises the moderator as bonded to the Rifle, the first thing I thought was maybe this is the fix for the issue I read about? And perhaps the price reduction?

Pure speculation on my part.

When the HW110 first came out, the threads on the end of the barrel were not machined correctly and caused problems with the moderator.

I don't know if it was all the early rifles, or just some. There was a recall to get those fixed and the underlying problem was corrected at the factory.

I really thinking that AoA bonding (with epoxy I presume?) the moderator has to do with their (unfounded IMO) fear of the BATF.

I'm guessing they do that with any rifle that comes with a screw on moderator, but I haven't bothered to check.

Buy from Krale and you'll get an unmolested HW110 with a screw on/off moderator like it should be.

Interesting. Their website says the HW100 moderator is bonded as well.

The 100 has been around for years and never had any issue with the silencer that I've read.

Maybe it has to do with the silencer itself rather than the gun.

Dunno, it's strange.

But I wouldn't buy one with a glued on silencer.

Glued on silencer doesn't sound so great to me either.

I'm LEANING toward a Streamline .22.

Still undecided on whether the stock will be synthetic, walnut, or laminate. I'm kind of leaning toward syn or walnut. The extra light weight of the synthetic has some real appeal, though I love the look and feel of wood.

And... WHAT MODERATOR? I keep reading Donny FL this and Donny FL that. Are they quieter than Trident or Huggett? What is the reason to go with Donny FL?

I've been seeing a lot of comments with problems on FX guns (Crown and Impact mostly, I think)... a little concerning, especially since my local AOA apparently doesn't do warranty work on FXs. So, my consideration list has expanded from Streamline and Wildcat to include Bantam Sniper HR .22 and Daystate Huntsman Regal .22. Perhaps AOA does do warranty work on Daystates and Brococks? Being close to AOA, it would be nice to be able to work directly with them if a problem arises.

Thank you for the suggestions. My Brocock Bantam Hi-Lite .25 has been trouble free so far.

I think the pepper laminate is the nicest looking SL. Get a DonnyFL and don’t look back. The Sumo will work just fine, or even a smaller model, don’t think the stock SL in .22 is that loud anyway.

Reason: Price, Service, Selection, Local (USA), did I mention Service? Effectiveness, Looks (subjective, but I think they look great)

OK... thank you. Good to know that the Sumo fits well and works well on the Streamline.

I would go for a streamline 22. Power adjuster is awesome for low power backyard but can crank it up for hunting very easily.

THIS.

My SL 22 is super quiet with the DonnyFL Sumo. The Tanto is a perfect fit on this rifle and makes it very quiet without being or looking too big.

Bob... thanks for the comment. There's a reasonable chance I may go with the Streamline .22. And it's good to know that the Sumo is a good moderator for it. I take it that the Tanto is a little smaller, not as quiet as the Sumo, but looks right with the Streamline?
