Strelok Pro ?

I'm a Hawke Chairgun user, but after repeatedly seeing Strelok recommended I paid the 12.00 and downloaded Strelok Pro.

How do you guys use it (set it up) for airguns? It seems totally designed for powder burners. Did I download the wrong app?

You must input baseline data. Fiddle with it for a few minutes, going to the different data-input locations. After you enter the airgun-specific information, Strelock Pro becomes quite intuitive.

That’s exactly why I’ve stayed with ChairGun which is free & great on an IPhone. I need to remember my hold overs with different pellets, not every pellets BC.

Strelok maybe preferred by those that have gotten use to it but it was designed for firearms & the only plus I know of is Strelok has every type of reticle.

I’m sticking with Chairgun Pro until it crashes. It’s allegedly not supported by Hawke any longer but my IPhone doesn’t seem to care.

The biggest learning curve for me was to learn to allow the app calculate the velocity and BC via shooting at a distance greater than the initial site in distance (the greater the better). In my case, I now site in at 18 yards (my indoor range limitation) and then run the set-up at as much distance as I can get. Once complete, I find Strelok to be dead on and that the resulting data can be totally trusted.

I have used (and trusted) StrelokPro for some time with PB’s. After switching to Airgun I basically stopped using it because I thought it didn’t have data for airgun. Turns out I was incorrect ( go figure) the data is there just a little tricky to find. After locating the correct JSB pellet and weight everything came together quite easily.

The hold overs were off ever so slightly until I modified the scope height until I got the correct readings. Now StrelokPro is back to being my go to app.

It is very comforting and intuitive to be able to view the correct reticle for your scope with the proper hold over based upon the power setting and distance.

The only minor negative I have is that the iPad version and the iPhone version are slightly different and don’t communicate well with each other. But, that is, by my standards, a small price to pay. If I put it in twice and get the same readings I can basically assume I did something right. All I know is it allows me to hit what I’m aiming at.

Here're some info on using Strelok:

(1) Some differences between ChairGun and Strelok Pro:

Strelok allows you to store 10 different scope zeros (rifle-scope combinations), so that you can switch extremly quickly between different pellets and setups. No need to record on paper where the zeros for Pellet X, Y, and Z are for your rifle-scope combination.

(2) How to Copy a Pellet and Reuse It With a Different Rifle

Strelok Pro: Android

Copying a Cartridge to a Different Rifle
• Go to main screen [the one that calculates holdover and clicks] |
• Tap the gun-cartridge combination |
• Tap the cartridge |
• Tap "Change Cartridge" |
• Select from the list of cartridges [pellets] |
• Tap "Copy" |
• Select from the list of rifles the one you want to copy that cartridge to [you have to have stored more than one rifle in Strelok] |
• OK | Back, or OK | you are now back at the main screen

Selecting the Copied Cartridge
• Tap "Change Rifle" |
• Select from the list of rifles the one that you copied the cartridge to |
• Tap the cartridge |
• Tap "Change Cartridge" |
• Select from the list of cartridges [pellets] |
• OK | Back or OK | Back or OK | you are now back at the main screen

Modifying the Copied Cartridge for the New Rifle
• Go to main screen [the one that calculates holdover and clicks] |
• Tap the gun-cartridge combination |
• Tap the cartridge |
• Now follow the instructions of my previous post for Pellet #2 in Strelok.

Ask away, we'll help if we can! :)

Any shot over 100 yards that I have connected with is due to Strelok Pro. If I can range it this app and my guns will drop it. Problem I have is the time it takes to range the game, input data and take the shot. Not all feather and fur just hangs around waiting to be blasted. Nevertheless the app has made me a much better long range shot. I use it with all my PCPs and 7mm Mag PB. I even have my buddies PCPs in the menu and inform him all the time on holdovers. Best app I ever used hands down.

Something like this. The card is apprx 4x7 so it fits my data book. Its pretty fast to use.
