Strelock Pro question?

"Bleemus"Anybody know if you can change reticle view to show as POA instead of the yellow POI?
Didn't quite understand your question. Once you put in the target size into Sterlok, it shows the POI on the reticle basis the zero you set on your air gun. The pellet hits exactly at the point at which the target shows on your reticle. Unless you using a handgun which has a lower point of aim since the recoil pushes the barrel up.

Sorry if I was unclear. POA = Point of Aim and POI = Point of Impact. I would like to take a quick look at see POA instead of POI. Seeing POI means you then have to basically calculate a mirror image in your head. Seems like it would be much better if, while in the field, I could just take a look and say 4 mildots over and 2 mildots left.

Make sense?

Got it. 😁 don't think Sterlok has the feature. You have to enter multiple variables each time to see where to aim. What I did was to print out a few combinations of the reticle accounting for standard 5-10 mile winds and multiple distances. So now when I range a target and it says 100 yards and the wind I estimate to be 5 mile left to right, I know that I have to shoot 3 mil dots down and 1 mil dot to the right.

You could print a small reticle and stick it to your scope cover like this. It's much faster than entering variables into Sterlok.

I have the free Strelok and the cross hairs in the yellow is the POA for your hold over and windage. If you hold reticle on target the yellow is the POI. I don't understand where you get the mirror image needed from.

So I emailed Igor the developer of Strelock . . .

Igor,
I bought Strelock Pro yesterday and I am loving it. Thanks for your hard work on this.

I was wondering if it is possible to change the yellow circle in reticle view so that it show as Point of Aim (POA) instead of Point of Impact (POI)?

Regards,
Keth

Keth,
In this situation POA and POI are the same.

Igor

Igor,
I am not sure I understand. Here is a picture of the reticle view. With the wind from the right the point of impact is center of yellow circle. If I were to use it as point of aim as you stated the shot would be even farther left not center of bullseye. When hunting in the field it seems that being able to quickly look at screen and see what your holdover and offset is a feature that many would like. Just a thought.

Also the wind mph doesn't show in the image as you can also see.

Cheers,
Keth

Keth,
Sorry, POI this is the centre of target, POA this is centre of куешсду cross-hairs. Thus you can see POI and POA at the same time

Igor
Sigh.

Not to dredge up an old thread, but by chance are you putting the wind in backwards? Took me a few tries to realize the arrow on the wind direction was pointing from the outside of the circle AT "you."

So if the wind is blowing right to left you'd actually want to put the arrow so it shows 90° not -90°.

I was pushing the arrow from right to left which actually made it do just the opposite and I got the same mirror problem you described.

Push from the center triangle... "you"... toward the direction the wind is blowing FROM. Then the wide part of the arrow will be the origin of the wind and the small point will be where the wind is funneling its direction at... "you".

Hope that makes sense. Sometimes it's hard for me to describe in text. If it doesn't make sense though I can make a video on YouTube and post it here too. I'm super run down from work, but could do it tomorrow sometime if you'd want/like me to.

I'd like to see that. Thanx
