Stock screw sizes, HW77

"Windmill01"I have found a gentleman who runs a shop on the Southside of Brisbane who sells and tunes HW’s. He is going to mail me the front stock and trigger screws in stainless. Watch out James it’s blinging time.

Great news Gary,
be sure to check the threads on the mounting bracket because those stainless screws can be a little softer steel. Try them before you put the stock on...also if your going to lock tight them use the blue and let it dry on the treads before installing...

good luck my friend
James from Michigan,
And those will be the cats ass on that stainless gun for sure!

Christian I fitted my new Hawke and some of the shots would be an inch high at 25 metres. Went through all the investigations and found that the main screw in the trigger guard was loose. Took it out to locktite and the second screw that this one screws into came out. I had to take the stock off to tighten the first screw. Anyhow I didn’t have my seeing eye dogs on and spread the screws, front stock useing the wrong sized screw driver.

Put it all back together and still doing the same thing. Found out that this tin of FTT 5.53 has about one in five pellets that have a smaller head size. No biggie really I just have to aim one milldot under and a smidge to the left when I notice a loose fitting pellet go in the barrel. They don’t seem to effect my LGV as much as the 77 and they don’t worry the Trail at all, go figure.

Ive ordered the two next head sizes up and will see how that goes. I’m not big on sorting pellets and usually adapt but I tried to order a pellet gauge from your side of the pond but it looks like they can’t obtain shipping costs to my side of the woods.

As for tuning I’ll wait until I’ve put a couple of thou through it before doing anything thing. At least I have an expert to talk to now.
