Steyr from Krale?

I was looking at the Krale website just to see if the Steyr Challenge HFT 17.7 FPE was in stock when I noticed the statement in BOLD print: Important: The shipping of this product to the United States is prohibited. The same disclaimer appeared under all of their FT guns but not their hunting guns. I don’t check their site often and this policy may have been in place for some time but my question remains......WTF? Does anyone know why such a short sighted corporate policy could come to be? Uj

I suppose that would be a business decision by Steyr and one that will cost them 95% of sales in the US since their only "authorized" US dealer stocks next to nothing and sells at 200% of Krales price.

Amen, there are enough good airgun tuners here that can fix anything that goes wrong on a Steyr. For the difference in price you'd be crazy to buy from the USA authorized dealer. Thank goodness for companies like Krale.

That rifle was actually ordered for me, but I have since decided not to take it. I did not specifically order the rifle, just inquired about availability. I bought from Krale before, and they are great. Steyr asked them to stop shipping to the U.S. ANA and other dealers have, I'm sure, been raising hell about the price difference, so Steyr had to do something. Gerrit told me he would ship that rifle to me, since I inquired about it before they agreed to the sales restriction.
