Stepping up my game.

I just recieved a few new pieces of gear to hopefully step up my game a little bit. I always thought I was a pretty good shooter but after seeing what some of you guys are posting on the target and hunting forums I realized I needed all the help I could get!

The next puchase I make will be a repair kit for the phantom. I was pesting yesterday and noticed this when I broke open the barrel.

I will definitley be cleaning and polishing the breach surfaces when I replace the breach seal. I will probably go ahead and replace the main spring and piston as well. Does anyone have any suggestions I should do while I have the rifle broken apart? Also I know some springs arent under too much compression and can be installed without a spring compressor. Has anyone here changed a mainspring in a phantom without a compressor or will I need to build one?

Thanks

I use chairgun and strelok. But I had no Idea there were such things as bluetooth anemometers. and I also agree that this range finder is awesome. when I was testing it out I could range the point on the top of my neighbors flag pole from 30 yards. I have been very pleased with it so far. I dont think I will be catching up with Ted anytime soon. I am stuck with a cheap springer for now. I am just trying to suck all of the accuracy out of it I can. plus I cant shoot right now, My breach seal is pretty much toast. The only place I have found them, sells them in a rebuild kit for over $50. I would like to just find the seal if possible. I haven't contacted crosman yet but does anyone know where else I can get these seals?

Kestrel makes some. Albeit a different quality of tool and thus commanding a different price point at the register :pout: Remember though, these are actual scientific instruments. Will the features out way the cost of the tool? That is something you need to decide for yourself. There are some pretty impressive features on them. Like a ballistic calculations suite, waterproof, bluetooth, pocket friendly, and others.

I might start another thread discussing some of the various range finders and Anemometers for the masses since I am in the process of investing in new tools for the arsenal myself.
