Starting to take longer shots!!

"Grandfather"Great shooting Bob. What is your camera setup ?
I am using a Sony DSC WX500 on a Gosky scope camera mount. I got this camera because it has a tilt up screen so I can shoot it from a seated position and always be able to look squarely at the screen.

I can't shoot from the shoulder with it like that though as the screen is too close for my vision. I have to mount it off to the side if I want to film while shooting from the shoulder. I'd love to get a Side Shot camera for that.

"huntjunky"Ditto...beautiful scope cam footage. Always may favorite. Can I assume you are using a Side Shot w/ your phone, on a Hawke Sidewinder, as I note you have real time audio included? Very crisp and I love the demonstration of the reticle light.
Here is the camera mounted to the side for when I want or have to shoot through the scope.

A Side Shot mount would be great as I like actual scope cam footage. Also my phone does 240 frames at 720p or 1080p at 120 frames, which would make for some even slower motion. My camera only does 60 frames.

"MScottLeeman"I was watching the slow-mo for pellet flight on that long shot prior to You mentioning it. No wobble and Very stable! Nice!!
I couldn't believe how stable it was!! And how straight it flew!

I figured that shot was 100 yards as that is what my side wheel focus had it at. But it was likely shorter, like 75 yards, as 3 mil-dots still had it going over the bird when it should have fallen short if it was really 100 yards.

According to Chairgun anyway.

I don't know how many shots as I've not counted. But there are reviews that say about 55 I think? I shot about 40 pellets yesterday on full power and a handful on mid and low power (from max fill), and the gauge was only down to 140 bar.

Yes, I'm loving this rifle. It's very accurate. The better I get with my scope, the better my shots get. I have it dialed right in for shots from 25 to 50 yards. Here's a video I just uploaded from yesterday's Dairy farm visit. I made two shots on Starlings at almost 90 yards. :)

Thanks for the videos. Growing up on the family farm in Swartz Creek gave me lots of shooting too. But the best was my brothers owned a couple hog farms. I spent weekends birding out the barns. Only I would get my but chewed if I left holes in the siding or roofs. Lucky I had a Blue Streak that I could use 3 pumps and was usually safe. Where in Mi are you?

I'm in Marquette - Central U.P.

While I try to adjust the power level to low and mid so I don't make holes, some of the farther shots in there need to be on high power to be accurate and lethal.

The farmer doesn't care about holes, he just wants the birds dead. Here's a pic of the damage he's done from shooting with a shotgun. From the first day I was there he told me I could shoot my shotgun at the birds from inside, but I told him I wouldn't do that. I don't like when I make a hole every now and then, but it doesn't phase me since I know he doesnt mind.

The biggest thing with me is that I don't hit a cow.

Hey Bob O, thanks again for your response and look forward to some Vids with the side shot. Great camera though...1080 @ 240 fps is awesome resolution. Just a tip, is you are "graying out" on the perimeter, it is due to the camera position relative to the eyepiece. This changes with camera zoom settings so it may need to be adjust fore/aft to eliminate this. Great vids...inspired me to get some footage on rabbits a few days ago. I'll post the vid when through with editing.

I watched your video......that was some nice shooting and a great video! A really cool area, very beautiful

I got the rifle all set up and sighted in roughly. I'll check zero when I get to the dairy tomorrow. I have FX No Limits rings on it, and got the Side-Shot mounted up. I also bought a range finder so I'll be using that tomorrow for the first time as well.
