I finally got some GoPro footages of starlings being dispatched at one of our permissions. The starlings are not as many in numbers at this time, but when the blueberries season is here, there will be thousands that stop by Farm X and I will definitely be ready for them with my AGs and Sideshot camera.

Hope you will enjoy this one.

Thanks.

I'll watch the whole video later.

One thing I might suggest is to enlarge the scope view somehow by using more zoom on your camera and/or during editing. It will make for a more enjoyable viewing experience.

I'm going to make a tips video soon for the guys who are making scope cam vids. I like the growing popularity of video production and just want to help out. I look back on ssome of my early videos and can barely stand to watch them.

@Dave. Thank you. They are very active on the ground so definitely challenging to tag them, but they would perch a bit longer on wires and roof tops. I was very impressed after watching Bobb's and other channels showing the fantastic scope cam footages that I had to get one myself. The SS is definitely a nice recording system to have even though it is expensive, but I am able to capture great videos and it allows me to analyze my POI and learn from my mistakes with target acquisition and the execution of my shots. I will continue to upload footages as I get the chance to shoot.

@Bobb. Good tips on the zoom. I am currently using a fixed 10x MTC Viper on my Crown, plus I have an after market GoPro lens that might not be set at the best depth to get optimal clarity. Therefore, if I zoom in too tight, the footages look grainy and out of focus. Are you using a 10x zoom or bigger? I have recently record in 2k setting and see if I can get better detail with cropping. My next short video that I will upload once it is ready was shot in 2K. Looking forward to your tips on filming.

Sorry, I didn't see that you were using a GoPro. So if your zoom is fixed on the camera like mine, then you just have to enlarge it during editing. Yes you lose some resolution but personally, I won't watch videos where the scope footage is small. I vary magnification a lot depending upon the range and size of the target. Normally for 25 to 50 yds I use 12 to 16 power. For 75 to 100 yds I use 14 to 18 power. And for anything over 100 yds I use full power on my scope.....20x.

Not a bad start for doing a video. Are you shooting from a standing position using a tripod. I see that you don't necessarily have a rock steady position to increase your hit chances. For the most part in the field I use a two legged shooting sticks and shoot in a seated position with my back up against a post or something to steady myself. I find the sticks are quick to adjust and move to vary for elevation. Plus if your pest are for the most part landing in one area that makes it even better. Bill

@Bob. I am currently using th MTC Viper Pro 10x42 fixed so the image will look small especially at longer ranges. I am waiting for a new MTC 3x18x50 to arrive and I will put that on my Crown so I can get some zoom. Enjoyed your footages.

@Bill. I generally shoot sitting down with a tripod setup. I definitely need to control my aim and reduce movements with my gun to get more stable footages.
