Star Wars

Was taking lunch break and the news had a report about fans preparing for the new movie release. The video showed a youngish crowd wearing Star Wars costume space suits etc and I laughed at how silly they looked (they did look like they were having fun). Then I reflected on the outward appearance of a FT match where a group of mostly older farts in the hot summer were wearing an ugly leather jacket, harness, knee pads, and hat sporting long bill with side blinders shooting a pellet rifle with a 3 lb scope on top and all sorts of dodads attached to the gun. I find that funny too...............

Hunting camp when I was young er, flannel shirts a pair of Levi’s or the like, older men smoking cigarettes shooting deer, fast forward scent lock camo a rifle bought yesterday at bass pro the latest electro techno ozone odor eliminating doodad and laser guided bullets LOL the best part the videos with guy excited saying I smoked him, my grandfather would say thank you looking to heaven thank you for providing this animal for my family...................... Some things have changed or we have grown a teeny bit.

Must be more a regional thing in recent years in all the BLING and OUTFITS because our club which sees 18-24 folks every monthly match are mostly HUNTER class shooters.

Some in shorts and tennis shoes, most very casual looking more like a low budget class reunion crowd. We do have 3-6 that shoot time to time doing the Star Wars thing which most look at and comment what a hassle all that gear is seeing jackets on jackets off every lane. Hamsters, Body slings, Thigh rests etc .... adding too DAMN i can in no way get down and up from the ground every single lane !!

Great observation never the less ... Chuckle worthy indeed.

At this years Nationals, I used none of that. Actually I did have a couple things on my gun (scope wheel and bubble level). And I did have my "baby buggy" loaded down with a bunch of other stuff that I wanted to have handy:

Including:
A sitting pad
3 different height seats
water and snacks
rain suit (did not use it)
umbrella (did not use it)
bipod (did not use it)
dope book (did not use it)
air tank (did not use it during the match)

I wear boots at FT matches. Except for loafers, I dress the same for a FT match as I do every day, including right now.

Even If I don't personally use some of the stuff, I like to see all the various clothes, styles, and gadgets at matches. It's part of the entertainment of the match.
