This video is made up of my latest attempts to control the pest population in my area There is one long range shot in this video using my .25 Mrod. The shot was right at 100 yds with a slight breeze blowing right to left. I had to aim about a mil dot off for the wind and almost 4 mils hold over. This shot shows the perfect example of what can go wrong to mess up a shot at such long distance. When I squeezed the trigger the starling was standing up right but as the pellet approached he squatted slightly causing the pellet to hit slightly higher than I was aiming for. The .25 pellet still hit vitals and killed the bird but a little more squat and the pellet would have cleanly missed or just injured the starling. If this shot was with a .177 the starling might have needed a follow up due to less energy and a smaller hole. So many minor things to go wrong on 100+ yd shots that you cant predict. Thats one reason I dont take long shots on game animals. I dont want my meal to hobble off and die somewhere I want to make sure its going down where I can retrieve it I used three rifles in this video: BSA S10 .177 @ 10.5 fpe, AA S510 .22 @ 28 fpe and my Mrod .25 @ 43 fpe. Hope you guys enjoy this video.

Hey, good job.  Loved seeing those nasty starlings go down.   And the male sparrows that are constantly picking on my blue birds.  Some where, some how, somebody, must love sparrows and starlings but I assure you it ain’t here, not now, not ever.  Brian

LDP – Nice video, nice shooting.
Brian – I feel your pain. I don’t think anyone likes sparrows or starlings. The are constantly harassing the tree swallows that nest in my yard every year.

Thank you! I have a casio exilim ex-zr1100 and the steady pix mount. I did slightly mod the mount to make it more rigid on the scope to keep it from drooping but other than that its worked great.
