Squirrel Call

Is there a model associated with it? And where did you find it please?

I tried using them and did not have much luck.

Never thought about a squirrel call! I have calls for yotes but then again guess most critters have some form of communication that gets em all fired up. Haha

Just got one of those. Sounds authentic. I was in the back yard doing this video and the wife was sure it was squirrel before I revealed myself and told her it was my new call. Haven't attracted any squirrels yet, just testing it out. Don't even have to take it out of your pocket. In fact, it sounds better from there.

I have the same call I was using the young squirrel in distress call and had a fox charging to me within 10 feet before he spotted me

I have had much success with the cel phone predator call apps from the play store. I always have my phone with me. The rock squirrels (ground squirrels in NM) respond better to grey squirrel sounds than to red squirrel sounds. I don't use it to call them to me, rather to get them to expose their heads from their burrows. Maybe 10% of the time they will run into view from outside the hole, but mostly they pop out of the burrow, or sit up higher for a better sight picture.



Get some video if you can.

This is the call I use when shooting ground squirrels. Easy to use, and does not make them come to you, but like JimNM said, it exposes them and most of the time makes them stand up, giving you a bigger target. The best thing is, it lets me keep both hands free to prepare for the shot
