Springer as part of survival gear?

ive always been a pcp guy but just recently purchased an air arms pro sport. Beautiful rifle. I was just thinking to myself and came to the conclusion that I'd rather have a springer to hunt small game than a pcp due to several reasons. I wouldn't have to worry pcp pump failing. Seems like there's more things that could go wrong with a pcp. What do you guys think?

Springers are a great choice. Crosman makes a nitro piston pistol for under 70 bucks that is more then enough for use as a bag gun.

The idea of cocking and firing only when needed is a huge plus as well.

Believe me, no matter what you decide to carry, when/if you get lost somewhere and have a springer on hand its a godsent to be able to bag a bird or nutter as a meal and a huge confidence booster as well....

However pellets can be easily damaged/lost and a gun can easily cease to function for no apparent reason and as stated having basic parts on hand is a must if using as a packing rifle.

A slingshot or wrist rocket will work just as well and you have unlimited ammo all around you which is a good backup for any backpack
