Spreadsheet math for predicting MVs with reduced weight pellets

The method is derived from this old model...

http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1226513246

The procedure...

C&P these cell entries into an Excel or similar spreadsheet
(note that it may be necessary to first C&P the cells into Notepad, then transfer them to the spreadsheet)...

Paste into spreadsheet cells A1 - A5

Ref Pellet gr
Test Pellet gr
Ref MV fps
Gas Constant Z
Predicted MV fps

Paste into cells B1 - B7

18.13
0.87
896
=0.011*(570/580)
=172*SQRT(B7/(B2+B7*B4))
=(B3/172)^2
=B6*B1/(1 - B6*B4)

1. Choose a reference pellet. Enter its weight into cell B1.
2. Choose (or construct) a test pellet. Enter its weight into B2
3. Fire a reference shot with the reference pellet. Enter the measured velocity into B3.
4. Calculated test MV appears in B5

Note that the Gas constant parameter in B4 will require adjustment if the air reservoir temperature is significantly different from the assumed 70oF

Please share your results.

Seems to work pretty well so far: http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1479696421/last-1479769153/Expand+Thread
