Spotting Scope DEAL OF THE CENTURY

Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

Just ordered! I believe it is true. Just a few months ago I was looking for all terrain tires for my truck and low and behold a dude in a forum I was following posted a Walmart deal for wrangler adventure Kevlar tires in the exact size I wanted for $50 each!( normal price $220 each).

What's ironic here is that I was getting by the last few years with a horrible Simmons scope ( well ok for up to a 100 yards) in the $60 range and finally gave in and got an Athlon Argos spotting scope a couple of weeks ago ( around $300) if I remember correctly. Interesting to see what I will receive and a comparison. If anything the bigger of the two will be my range spotting scope and the other one could be my hunting companion.

@Odoyle What’s a realistic viewing range for this model? I use a cheapo Simmons and it’s adequate within 50-60 yards. Although it boasts 20-60x magnification, I wouldn’t trust it out to 75-100 yards to provide a reasonable view of .35 holes in anything other than a splatter target. The view gets grainy in higher magnifications. Ever had a similar issue with yours?

The Simmons is not even in the same league as a Bausch and Lomb Elite.

It's like comparing a UTG to a Nightforce.

I had a $3000 Swarovsky ST80 20-60x80 and sold it and have the Bausch and Lomb Elite 20-60x80 because I no longer need to spot at 2000+ yards and the Bausch and Lomb is good enough to 1000 yards.

The Simmons is good till maybe 100 yards.

@Odoyle I didn’t mean to compare the two as if they are of equal quality. I’m asking if the view is clear on this Bushnell Bausch and Lomb scope, at least in your experience, within the 40-60x magnification range. Figured you may be able to provide practical insight since you said you own or have owned one. I’ve read many reviews on spotting scopes < $100 where owners claimed that the higher magnification ranges were not usable for spotting bullet holes when they got close to 100 yards out.

I'm in. I've been wanting a spotting scope, but every time I start shopping for one, the cost ends up higher than I want to spend. I'll roll the dice on this one and see what shows up.

Lol. Been there. That’s how I ended up with a cheapo. Researched all sorts of scopes and like you the price for something decent always seemed to exceed my budget, so I found a used Simmons for cheap. Works for close to moderate ranges. Figured it’d be good to get me started instead of continuing to walk back and forth and I was right. If you can relate I doubt you’ll regret pulling the trigger on your purchase. Hopefully this one is a helluva deal.
