Sports Yard Tape in 50 yds and 100yds by US Tape 10/18/18

Hey guys, we can never have too many accessories can we?

I'm constantly moving targets around here at Camp Fussell. I get tired of converting feet to yards on the 100 ft tape I've been using. Between my bullet traps, gongs, and reset targets there's a lot of checking and double checking on a range setup.

I also have a laser range finder, but it's just easier using the tape when I'm setting up several targets at a time. Plus I always have that nagging feeling....is my range finder accurate enough??? So I wind up double checking with the tape anyway.

Found these two tapes by US Tape and decided to order the 100 yd one. Haven't got it yet, and I'll let you know how I like it when she comes in.

I'm sure now that I've ordered this darn expensive toy, someone will find a much better deal! LOL

If any consolidation on cost I can tell you that the Sports Tape is one really solid tape. We used those to line the soccer fields. Pull them out or roll them up pretty much as fast as you want and the tape wouldn't twist or roll over. Now this was 10 years ago so hopefully the quality hasn't gone down like with most stuff over the years.

Thanks Don, now I don't feel so bad for cheaping out on the Rangefinder. I've got a Simmons LRF600 , but it usually reads the same distance as friends with the more expensive ones. When I'm setting up a scope for FT, I just like the precision of a tape better. The laser is great for hunting though. Also when I set the targets out with the tape and double check with the rangefinder and it checks.....I know my rangefinder is working properly!

Rico, I've used one of those before. It nags at my OCD brain as well! LOL. I'm always thinking did it have good contact with the ground? Did it free wheel any and give me a false reading??? Just an old school curmudgeon here man ;-) I just want my scope set ups to be on the money in case I ever do shoot FT again ;-) Again it would be fine for a hunting stake out situation.

Just to give you an idea of the holdovers I use with a 28 yd zero sight in.

When I say zero, I mean at the peak of the curve. I don't want any negative numbers to deal with in hold overs.

Tape came in today and wow is it huge. Won't have to worry about getting confused because it has nothing but yards marked on it! LOL

Would I buy it again??? Probably

Also picked up a Plano fishing line spool case to put pellet tins in. Really nice....

Put the 100 yd tape beside my 100 ft tape for comparison.
