South Florida Early Morning Iguana Take Down

I was practicing FT with my 12fpe Anschutz 2015FT when this critter wandered into my line of sight. I quickly reached for my MTC scoped .25 Lelya and dispatched it. Taken at about 35yds with one shot putting it into the death dance....a quick follow up shot ended it. This was a huge specimen.

Well done! If I might ask, what is the reg setting on your Lelya and what FPS are you getting? My .25 is set at 130 and I get 880 fps with the JSB MkII heavies.

The hammer spring is wound up quite a bit and I am starting to wonder if it might be too much for the valve stem.

Thanks! I don’t know the reg setting....it’s as I bought it new.....shooting JSB 25.4gr @ 820fps.

Thanks for the reply. If memory serves me correctly, the factory setting for the reg is 120.

Thank you for your participation in this eradication effort. Yep, gotta do my civic duty. These pests have destroyed my orchids and killed several flowering plants over the years.... not to mention the poop all over the patio. Fourteen years ago I enquired with Broward county wild life about them and was told that I had to pay a licensed trapper to kill them. This past week from my bedroom window:

There is still quite a bit of misinformation out there. Iguana Man on YouTube shows a recent video where some Broward cops roll up to him holding a bag full of live iguanas he had trapped, and actually ordered him to let them go, saying they were "protected". Idiots.

I went poking around yesterday to the entrances of a couple of the WMA's. Also took a walk along the Bel Air canal near Mount Trashmore. It's like a mass text message went out to the Eduardo population saying to hunker down and go to the mattresses. There was not a one to be seen.
