So today i got the pin probe power kit from Huma, and i decided to take a scientific approach.

So first i fired the gun over the chrono as it was, then i put in the pin probe and saw a little speed uplift but nothing that big, something like 30 - 40 FPS for a total of 875 FPS ( turned down a bit as in last outing i tried pellets for a little while before i wrapped up )

Then i looked at the power spring,,,,, which feel pretty stiff for a .177 setup, so again i decided to pretend to be scientific and just put in the lightest of the 2 new hammer weights with the stock FX spring, i then fired into my pellet trap ( just 1 time though i was loaded up for a 5 shot string like all other strings today )

And the FX chrono barked out 1107 FPS, and i thought " Ooooo kay ! Better stop here" as i am at least 2 full revolutions from the MAX on the hammer adjustment screw :)

For the hell of it i am going to see how the slugs like that speed on my next outing, but i do assume i will have to crank down a little at least for the 13.43 gr KO slugs i also used for my testing on the living room table today.

But nice to know i am ready for the 20 gr H&N slugs when they become available.

Okay sonic and sonic, i think the loud crack was the slug hitting the 2 mm steel back stop in my DIY pellet trap.

Also got a complete O-ring kit for the Maverick,,,,,,, OMG there are a lot of those in that gun, and some are like hair thickness.

Gave them a squirt of silicone oil in the plastic zipper bag,and put them to the side ready for use when needed.
