Some less common beauties

The interest in the Career 707 I replied to sparked a safe search. All these shoot very good to exceptional within their intended use. I don't think there is a piece of plastic anywhere in the bunch except the barrel spacer on the 707. The heaviest trigger of the bunch is about 1 lb on the Dragon.

Just thought some of you would enjoy some nice rifles that are a little rare to see.

Thanks RB...lol. You certainly picked up on that one.

Top pic , left... Hatsan Galatian actually an amazing rifle, never seen any pics or discussion of it, next... Falcon FN19 Raptor, next... Falcon FN12 Hawk, both 22, amazingly efficient, accurate , and light, all steel brass and wood with bluing of the highest level, next... Parker Hale Dragon ... given to me by a very good friend and I've restored it to nice function. Heavily used but very well made.

Bottom pic left... RWS Excalibur , also know as Fx Tarantula and maybe other names . 30 ft lb of incredible accuracy in 22, no reg but still has small ES from 200 bar to 120 bar., next Shin Sung Career 707 in 22, early model with match peeps, VERY accurate and first tests in 1996 era was 1076 for 5 shots w Dae Sung 31 gn(QUITE loud). After all the mods, it's very slick to operate and maxes at 45 ft lb., last... but not least... possibly the smoothest of all my pcp's... the JK Hahn Majesty 22... beautiful, smooth, accurate, very nice magazines. Can't see why it wasn't more popular. Guess I could say the same about the Falcons.

Hope you've enjoyed .

Nice collection. I too am always pleased with the accuracy from my 707, FNs and Tarantulas. They're older but still tack drivers and great build quality.

Which is your favourite?

That's a pretty difficult choice but probably the C707 followed closely by the Majesty. The C707 is SO accurate and versatile but the Majesty is so nice looking and smooth and accurate .

How about your favorite?

Very nice Bobbie. I feel privileged to have handled and shot a few of these.

The Galatian fit and finish sure doesn't scream Hatsan, shoots nice too.

We shot the Falcon late one night at 10m targets. What stuck with me from that one is how easy it seemed to shoot offhand. Kinda remember shooting my best 10 m "group" of the evening with this one, among FWB and other fine rifles.

The sheer robustness and amount of machining that went into all the pieces and parts that comprise the linkage of the cocking arm of the Parker Hale is just something else. I believe I marveled at that for ten or fifteen min, inspecting from all angles. Very unique and interesting gun.

Finally, I remember shooting one of your Koreans, thought it was a 707, but Im not remembering the peep sights.

Most of these are far before my time and I'd have never been aware of or seen them without you. Very much appreciate your sharing, both of guns and airgun knowledge. Very cool.

Thanks Lewis and Franklink.

I think I shot my best offhand that night with the FN19 as well. Been trying some of the collection more offhand lately. Some odd ones have stood out. I always do well with the C707 but my Sportman, LGU, and Filarms have been surprisingly easy to shoot small groups. The Filarms feels like it was made for it specifically. I've even been using the LGU w scope on 32x and I can still be fairly steady... WAY better than my regular FT rifle. Guess that means I need to investigate the fit a bit more on it.

The Galatian does seem to be a bit of an anomaly. It is a heavy brute but the stock and general look are quite nice and I've not found any fault in the design PLUS it came in a nice case, rebuild kit, extra mags, fill adapter, sling, and iron sights.... things not included with many ag's at all.

Yep that is a nice collection there Bobby! I remember shooting most of them over the years except maybe the Majesty. That Dragon was a pain to go through the all the steps to shoot a shot, lol, I think I had had enough and handed it back after 3 shots!

Then there was the name John thought up for the Galatian, it was a funny one!

Lot's of fond memories tied to these rifles, and your other ones as well.

Remember that guy at LD's FT shoot that kept banging on his FN ??19's barrel to change the POI back, lol! That was so funny!
