Gabe,
I can only assume you know better, but misswrote. We have never recognized the unlimited class in 25M benchrest, but have never banned guns that might have met that definitionin our new long range events. We have even sometimes llowed a guy to use a slightly over the limit gun with the advice he needed to "turn it down next time". You explained to me earlier you didn't feel competitive shooting guns of lesser power in the 25M class, despite realizing nobody else was using guns over 35fpe. Ok, that I get that, but don't say I recenctely banned your over-limit guns, as I have never never allowed em to begin with in 25M matches here. By only using guns between around 10 and 35 fpe, we have, for over about a decade of regular shooting here at the Temecula club, had reasonably fair, competitive, and enjoyable events, and just don't feel a class with unlimited power, weight, and use of one-piece rests fits in with our club matches. Fact is, NO sanctioned International rules matches allow that class to compete against other classes.
Every 100 yard or farther event we have held here has allowed guns that would have met the ":Unlimited Class" Benchrest rules as I know them, so for you to use that rationale to hold other such matches seems weird.
The rules below are most current that discuss Unlimited Benchrest 25M shooting using the International target as we do:

- .177, .20 and .22 calibers are allowed.
- Any power level is allowed.
- Any weight rifle is allowed.
- .25 or larger calibers are allowed to compete for score at the discretion of the match director; given non compliance with WRABF scoring procedures, scores will not be recognized by USARB.
- Rifles using electrically actuated or powered components, or computer processors and applications are allowed; these components need not be integral to the rifle.
- Wind flags or anemometers sensing and transmitting data to a computer device or display are allowed.
- Front rests using electrically actuated or powered components are allowed.
- One piece rests are allowed.
- Scopes transmitting or receiving data from a computer device are allowed.
- Scopes may utilize illumination.
- Tethered tanks are not allowed.
- International scoring rules will apply.
