So, who's shooting the Avenger?

I have two of them and both shoot amazing. I’ve run into my first problem after a few minor ones getting it initially set up. On my 22 I for some reason decided to take the shroud off for no real reason. I’ve seen it done on numerous vids no big deal. Yeah not on mine. That damn thing was pretty much glued to the bushing in the middle of the barrel that centers the barrel in the shroud. I had all I could do to even unscrew it and barely got it off. Ended of damaging the shroud. TP from AV is sending me a new bushing. On hold with AV as we speak about possibly getting a shroud. I don’t want to bug Tyler about this too. He was so awesome about the bushing. AV doesn’t seem to answer their phone though. Lol. It seemed the cause was the grub screw in the bushing being over tightened by whoever put it together. I have no idea how they got it on there though. Maybe it or the shroud was out of spec because I couldn’t seem to make it fit back no matter what. No idea if this is common but if I were you I wouldn’t attempt to remove the shroud unless absolutely necessary. I won’t touch the one on my 25.

I've had the shroud off my .22 a couple times. No issues like yours. I also took the barrel off so I could clean it, no problems getting it all back together either. Hope the issues you see are limited. So far, for a cheap gun, been pretty happy.
I did try slugs, and no go. Highest speeds I could get maxed out with the FX Hybrids was about 830 fps. Heavier slugs dropped to mid 700's. Just not enough oomph. I'll be setting up as a high efficiency pellet shooter rather than the original purpose of a slug gun. Great little gun, but like all guns it has limits and I guess I just pushed past that power limit.

Hey SaltLake58,
I installed a plenum on my Avenger, and it made a pretty big difference in the power output of my gun. I posted an article here in case you missed it. I am currently tuned at about 40FPE, but I feel pretty good that I could get 60FPE out of the gun now if I wanted to. It will probably be a while before I tune it back to shooting slugs because I am getting it ready for RMAC right now and it will be shooting Diabolos for a little while.

Anyway, I just thought that I'd put this bug in your ear since I got such remarkable results from my plenum upgrade.
