Tuning So I’m scratching my head....

I recently installed the Huma Dual TP V2 in my Impact 2/pp/ 700 mm.

I tried it first w the FX OEM pellet probe and was getting my target velocity of 980 at 133 Bar and very good accuracy w NSA 33.5 w the Superior Heavy Liner

Then I picked up the Huma high flow probe to go w the TP..... my thoughts... bigger probe more velocity lower reg., right?

Weeeelllll, now it requires 145 Bar to hit 980

I did make sure and line the probe up with the TP. Marked it and got it set right before tuning

Am I missing something here ??

The adjustable pin probe was a no go in this gun, accuracy suffered

Ha, I guess I could have stayed w the OEM probe and saved some scratch.

I have just installed a power slug kit to my about a week ago in my 25cal mk2 pp 700mm . Fighting weather conditions and time to tune the gun is shooting the 33.5 slugs @950fps regulator @110bar hst not every close to being maxed out. And now I’m shooting nsa 34.9 newest slugs @930fps and was having a problem with the pin probe was not keeping the slugs straight all the time , so I put the factory but enlarged probe back in now shooting @920fps only slowed down 10fps . This is fine for me and not jamming up in the enlarged tp and is shooting very content FPS deviations are less than 10fps. My guess that your regulator pressure may be a little higher than it needs to be? But all guns are different. My gun was shooting 36.2 @970 with the regulator @135bar but extremely out of tune. But now every thing makes more sense, that I believe that if I want shoot 36.2 @970 it could be done with just a little bit more regulator pressure. I hope that helps I know how time and slug consuming tuning is.

Just got off the phone w FX. As explained to me.... because the increased size of the hole in both the Huma TP and High flow probe, you get a larger volume of air through but as an opening increases, the speed of the air passing though decreases so more reg pressure is needed to make up for that. Power does increase, though.
Makes sense to me. So passing along.

Thanks for the input.
