Considering the free shipping above $150 and other offers, How many tins do you buy to make sense?

How much do you shoot?  Buying enough to make free shipping minimum (also concidering % off sales and buy 3 get one free deals) only makes sense if you shoot enough to use them and not have them sit around “forever”.   For me, there is usually something other than pellets that I want to buy so getting free shipping is not usually a problem.   Last order was 8- 350 count tins of 25.4g JSB’s.  Now I need to order more 33.9g MK2’s.  I’ll probably stock up too (they seem to keep running out. Lol).

Yes, it depends on how often you shoot, quantity of guns and calibers of said guns.
I have 4 calibers of guns. I shoot at least twice a week. If I have a special upcoming event I’ll shoot more often in practice which all of that makes it a bit easier to spread out the quantity.
I wait for pyramid air to have a sale. Typically there is a promotion for most major holidays and depending on the discount, I buy accordingly. I make sure I buy just enough to round up and take advantage of the buy 3 get one free.
The 13% discounts are fairly common, the 15% is maybe once or twice and a 20% is very rare like they’re recent birthday sale where I went a bit overboard some may say.
If I had to guess, I’d say my ammo bill is probably north of $800 a year.

It took 16 tins of premium 177 pellets for me to get the free shipping and 4 tins free from PA. Heck of a deal.

good question and its different for everybody ..,for me.. Im not to the point of only buying the favorite pellet of a  particular gun ,,,ive got the FX,, WC and IMPACT also the RAW HM1000X 30and 25 cal.so i keep there .the ammo they like best but love the idea of variety, so at this time of only 1 year into PCPs,i have got approx  160 tins of pellets on hand ,on a good day with my youngest boy,hes 9 and my shooting partner ,loves to nail those spinners and has picked up on how to do the little things from setting parallax and knowing about cant to getting a hang of using the eye box  we have shooting sessions that have lasted 5 plus hours ,so we have shot up to 10 plus different kinds of pellets in one session and have gone through a 1000 plus pellets  in one session ,,so i just checked my stock bought acct at AGD and theres a splattering of 24 ,20 16 12 tin purchases so yeah i try to take advantage of every savings i can always ibought in numbers of 4  hynzie

I just purchased 10 tins from Field Supply, IIRC they offer free shipping on orders of $35 or more. Last year on Black Friday I bought 12 tins of H&N FTT .177 for a little over $6 each shipped. I plan on trying to stock up again if I can find some deals this year.

Hynzie, what kind of pellet does that RAW like? I’m saving up for one in a few more months and was just wondering what the typical RAW in .25 cal likes or if it is pellet finiky. Just have heard so much about the accuracy people are getting out of it that I can’t help myself … I gotta have one. Yeah, I know, I’m addicted. Had any more trouble with the local LEOs out your way?

It is safe to say that we air gunners are consuming more and more because of economic viability and improvement in technology. Its not that Airguns will replace fire arms but the availability of affordable air gun ammo is a threat to Rim fire based recreational shooting.
