A new gun range is opening in Devore, CA off Kenwood Exit of the 15 fwy. This is south of the 138 near Glen Helen area. We have met with the owner of the range and expressed our interest in an airgun only area shooting range. We have a place within the range that is far from where the firearms people will be shooting so noise will not be an issue and we have our own area with what looks like an area that is flat to around 150 yards and then out to around 300 yards if you place targets on the hillside.
I am looking at setting up a monthly event if there is enough interest in it. Looking at en event unlike what is out there now where we will shoot at longer distances at various distances. Pellets, slugs, small bore, big bore. Similar to field target but with powerful guns and longer ranges with different type of targets that can withstand the power of these guns.
The March 14th event will be free of charge and open to anyone who wants to hang out. This first shoot will not be a competition but a fun shoot. Come to hang out, shoot, meet other So Cal shooters and see other people's guns and equipment. When the range opens to the public they will charge a fee to use the airgun range but they say it will be a modest fee. This is a great location and something us So Cal airgunners need - a good place to shoot and meet up that is centrally located.
