Snow is a pretty good wind indicator

A little fun shooting 1" spinner at 80 yds with the R10 on this snowy day. All of my air gunning attention has gone to the Wildcat lately since it got a new scope. Had to show the BSA some love.

I did not notice any change in POI. My regular shooting bench is almost directly under that window - but 5 yds closer. However, the warm/cold heat exchange thru the open window does sometimes cause a little "mirage" effect that can briefly blur the target. Mostly just an annoyance but it did cause me to miss on a good hit streak (at least thats my story and I'm sticking to it).

I used to shoot CF benchrest, mostly with 6 PPC. Lots of folks had great equipment, and good reloading preparation, which is a huge part of that game. But, when the wind blew, the real shooters won, even if their equipment and ammo discipline was not the best. With air rifle, our equipment and ammo prep is relatively simple, but, knowing how to read conditions is even more important, with light, slow projectiles. If falling snow is your "wind flag", whatever works. Sounds like fun.
