Smooth Twist looks to be working

I found one shot JSB Exact .25 pellet in perfect shape from my back yard today and weighed it along with another pellet from the same batch.

My hypothesis was that since there are clear rifling marks on the pellet it should weigh some less than an unshot one. This pellet was maybe shot at ice or snow during the winter but I found it in mint condition.

It weighs just as much as the unshot one! Both weigh 1,67 grams. I think this is pretty good :p

Even if you did loose a smear of lead it would be such a small amount that you would be needing a very accurate analytical balance to measure any difference. You would only be able to accurately measure that difference if you weighed the pellet itself before and after. The variation in weight from pellet to pellet will likely be much larger than the difference between one before and after firing. I think that would probably be true of regular rifling as well.

Pretty cool pic though.
