I like the smart watches though i have not had one, and really i do prefer classic watches for the mechanical engineering.
And i am not needing any activity tracker as there would not be much to track these days.
My last bicycle it did get a computer on it, which back in 1989 - 90 was something fairly new, and in spite of me just using it for transport in general i still managed to log 4500 KM in the 7 moths or so before that bike too got stolen.
All of my bikes have gotten stolen, aside for the 2 last one which was flatted by a truck making a R turn in front of me, but a few of the fine Italian Campagnolo parts was salvageable, and those was on my last racer.
As a kid ( 11 and up ) i have cycled many many 1000 km, and sneakers i could also wear a hole in the sole just in the school summer break, and often 2 pairs over the entire summer season, and all i did was run from trouble,,,, which i encountered a lot as a kid, and most often not trouble i was to blame for.
